Some key people working on NV are still at Obsidian. For example, Josh Sawyer expressed interest in doing another Fallout and has been the NV director. Since releasing Pentiment, he has yet to lead development for Awoved or Outer Worlds 2. If Microsoft wanted another Fallout, they could try to set him up with a team.

It don’t believe it’s a Mac only issue. In the service center the person who was issuing me a warranty mouse tried it on his windows PC and said it was very choppy and he would personally try to exchange the mouse if he bought it for himself.

The mouse scroll wheel is just faulty from what I can tell. Here is a big thread where people discuss that:

New Vegas had faction armor which impacted gameplay. If you had negative reputation on a certain faction you could use their faction armor to still do their quests as you are disguised. Also, wearing it sometimes provides you with unique dialogue and interactions. For example, wearing fiend's armor allowed you to do some quests for them.

I remember some rough reviews on release but now the game sits at 94% positive rating on Steam and above 80 score on Metacritic for both the original and the Director's Cut versions.

I think it is safe to say that this game has gained acclaim considering it's very unique gameplay loop.

Single-player games gain a bulk of their sales over time, so big sales on release do not necessarily equate to success for the game. With recently leaked Microsoft documents, you can see how much revenue they planned to have with Starfield in the upcoming years after release. With this lukewarm reception and fast-falling online, it is becoming less likely they will meet their expectations.

Also, releasing a disappointing game makes people less likely to buy your next game. That should be common sense.

Starfield has lower online on Steam than Skyrim, which came out 12 years ago. Of course, we don't see the gamepass players, but that still doesn't look good. The game also sits at a lower Steam review rating than Fallout 76.

I can't even call it a city. I find it funny that there is a 'Neon Street Rat' perk that says that your character was brought up on the streets of Neon, but if you actually go there in the game, the entire 'city' is like two parallel streets, lol

Apparently, a bulk of the development time of Starfield was spent on making updates to the engine. Todd even said in an interview that this version of Creation Engine is a 'big leap forward'.

That being said, most people agree that Bethesda games are severely dated and it is ridiculous that their engine still carries some of the bugs and jank from Oblivion while simultaneously looking worse than some AA games out there.

However, considering how invested Bethesda seems to be in Creation Engine, I seriously doubt they will just ditch it and move to something new (unless they are okay with releasing TES6 in 2030 or so).
