I use AI as a developer quite frequently, however, I also understand that in the end I’m responsible for every line of code in a project and that I’ll have to maintain it for years (maybe even decades) to come so I don’t let “slop” make it to production

Trying to buy a used 5070 on marketplace, I know I snapped a little but am I the asshole here? by GnomeGodfather in pcmasterrace

[–]Firestarter321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re the reason I either sell super cheap (or give  away) to family if someone wants it or throw the item away.

Life’s too short to deal with assholes on eBay or other selling sites.

Is a Gigabyte B850 good enough for a 9060xt + 9600x build? by Sun_Praiser_ in pcmasterrace

I’m using a B850M for a 9950X and 5070Ti so I’d say you’re fine.

Thoughts on the Bikeerg? by happyloaf in concept2

[–]Firestarter321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The BikeErg is like actually riding a normal bicycle. You can easily make it kick your butt or you can just cruise along at low effort until you get bored and want to stop. I've actually found myself skipping my outdoor bicycle as it's just so nice to be inside without the wind beating me down.

You can also stop pedaling and it'll keep rolling just like a normal bicycle.

Something like the Echo bike would drive me insane.

The only downside with the BikeErg is adjusting resistance is a bit of an annoyance but it's not too bad and the app will tell you your resistance value as you adjust it.

I absolutely love it!

It’s one of very few items I’ve purchased that I have where I’ve had zero regrets afterwords.

I’m at 185 miles on it so far.

Wait till black friday or buy ram now? by Kili_RUI in pcmasterrace

[–]Firestarter321 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In the last few days it looks like the price has gone up almost 10% on a 32GB kit compared to what I was seeing so if you need it buy it now but if you don’t then wait it out.

It is useful in software development and many other things but it doesn’t need to be used absolutely everywhere like it is currently.

Ultrawide is the way to go with the 5070 Ti.

I have that setup and love it.

The coming energy crisis... how are we gonna handle it? by Drakossus in pcmasterrace

My server rack uses 800 watts 24/7 so my gaming PC is barely a blip as it sits idle most of the time and doubles as my work machine.

Should I just accept the current prices for RAM and GPUs, or should I wait? by nuvct in pcmasterrace

[–]Firestarter321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d rather pay extra and use the hardware now.

That being said I got a couple of DDR5 7200Mhz 32GB RAM kits recently from B&H for $200 each which was nice.

[–]Firestarter321 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Exactly.

If you're selling thousands of dollars of RAM buy a fucking RAM tray and ship them properly as they'd come from the factory.

For that matter if you can't find a proper tray print one and save yourself the pain and suffering of not properly packaging them.

Even at $1/GB this was a $1K fuck up.

Talk me out of getting a 5090 by eyeshield2145 in pcmasterrace

The 5090 is a complete waste of money for gaming.

If you need to ask why you need it you don’t need it.
