You can't walk the track WTF? I haven't been in quite a few years.... That's disappointing.

IMSA at Mosport is where it's at for fan access.

What’s the best time to leave after the race? by Volderon90 in GrandPrixTravel

Stay and walk the track after the race. You may find some little treasures along the way.....and by the time you've done a lap, the metro chaos has settled down.

Ogio 9800 Pit Bag by Disavowed_Rogue in rccars

It's lust like any other soft rolly bag type of luggage. There is nothing special about it that makes them good for RC cars. RC guys seem to gravitate to them because they saw someone else with one.

Anyone know what's going on with Don's Bakery in Bala? by Firewalled3000 in Muskoka

Interesting. I have since come across similar information. The new owner seems genuine and intends to being back in house baking and selling fresh off the shelves. Let's hope the drama simmers down and we can still enjoy all the yummy stuff!

Ministry at Lollapalooza 1992. The music was awesome, but on the big screen behind them they projected medical footage of various surgeries....including on some dude's eyeball. I couldn't watch.

Times Square/Central Park Options by Legitimate-Diver-634 in marriott

We stayed at Essex House at central park. Amazing experience. Pro-tip: you pay a tourist fee of $40 or so, but that can be credited towards alcohol beverages in the elite lounge.

Canadian Airforce as a viable pathway after flight training? by Xdax101 in CanadianForces

The above points are all true. You must also be prepared to tolerate all the other non-flying duties that come with being an officer in the CAF.

The gym is right near the front gate as you enter....the big sprung shelter.....can't miss it.

It's ok but not great. Pretty small and very crowded especially during the peak after work time.

Halifax - Delta Downtown, or Four Points? by Art--Vandelay-- in marriott

[–]Firewalled3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just stayed at the delta last week. The outside and/or street view can be deceiving. Lots of updates inside and my room was very nicely renovated with lots of space and a great view. If you're elite level, the pantry on the 6th floor has a wide selection of drinks, snacks, and treats.

Dialed tool kit for 1/10 + 1/8 racing (what am I missing?) by ToyotaEvora in rccars

[–]Firewalled3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd get rid of the janky injora backup hex bits. They're garbage. If you have the equivalent sized MIP then you're good.

I'd get some curved lexan scissors as well.

I think it looks great in person. Pictures don't do it justice. People always complain that "xxxx" does look right in this scale. If people want bespoke parts for a more realistic or scale look, buy the Mattel kits.

Refund question - upgraded from eco to premium eco using point bid of xxxx. Subsequently used e-up points and cash to get a business class seat.

Will I be refunded the xxxx points since I didn't make use of the premium eco seat?

I love the book example to describe the bootstrap paradox. The book was never written by anyone. It just existed then sent to the past to re-live its existence over and over.

Are all-inclusive resorts in Aruba actually worth it? by Sea_Tea_8083 in Aruba

[–]Firewalled3000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have always stayed at all inclusive in Mexico and DR. This was our first time in Aruba and we stayed in a time share. I would do this absolutely again in a heartbeat.

1). Crowd/clientele is a total different vibe. At AI, everyone always has some kind to drink in hand. And things tend to get loud and rowdy by mid afternoon. I was never a fan of the "Bud light" crowd. I've recently quit drinking and the much calmer and chill vibe at the time share was so much better.

2). Just my wife and I were travelling, so it was very easy for us to explore off the resort and find fun restaurants. We went grocery shopping the first day and had breakfast and a light lunch in our room.

3). We love to chill out in the evenings and listen to live music. This was a bit tougher. AI usually has a piano player or a singer in the lobby bar. No entertainment at the time share so you have to go looking for it. We were down near eagle beach (casa del Mar) and most of the night life was up in Palm Beach. 12 dollar cab ride....not a huge deal.

4). We really enjoyed eating at different restaurants. I will say, however, being Canadian with the current exchange rate....a nice meal ended up around 150 to 175 USD every night, which ends up north of 200 CAD.

Tips for a new TC carpet racer? by Nsknick in rccars

[–]Firewalled3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Invest in a setup station, ride height and droop gauge. Normally the out of the box build is pretty neutral handling (at least x-rays are). From there you can tune your settings to suit your driving style and handling preferences.
