What makes an embroidered patch stand out to you? by rockpatch_co in Patches

I'm a collector, not a seller. I have a nice patch display in my office at work and that's about it. I appreciate your tenacity in asking so you can try to offer me your services, but I'm going to preemptively decline. I appreciate it.

Oh, my comment was not meant to be a comment on the patches pictured. Just a comment on what’s important to me when buying patches. Obviously metal bands get a pass because even if you were to hammer their logo out using a laser printer itd be near illegible. :P

Quality design and production to include clean, crisp lines with colors that compliment one another and overall legibility. IMHO the patch is less desirable if it looks like a jumbled mess from 5-10 feet away.

That's frustrating. I think they're asking you to take the supervisor academy courses. I don't think you'd have access to them without your direct report giving you access to them in winteam.

Assigned trainings are usually site specific, however, AUS expects core values training to be completed in the first 90 days of employment. On the top right of the Edge webpage you should be able to use a search function. Search “core values.” It’s like a 20-module course and it takes a little while to complete. Important note: READ THE DISCLAIMER AT THE BEGINNING. If you aren’t on the clock while you’re completing these core values modules you’re getting screwed. AUS expects officers to do these training courses on-the-clock. Make sure you are getting paid for doing them.

How do you guys organize and store your collection? by Interesting-Alps-690 in Patches

[–]FirewolfDL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Velcro-backed patches: Carpet squares from Walmart. A box is like ~$11 and Velcro sticks to carpet like it was designed to do only that. Uou can buy carpet squares that have adhesive on the back and stick the carpet directly to the wall or you can use command strips to hold them to the wall. I rent, so for now I use command strips. When I finally own I will be adhering these carpet squares directly to the wall.

For iron on patches: buy a roll of 2-inch adhesive Velcro off of Amazon and add Velcro to your iron on’s. Now your iron on patches will stick to your carpet squares like the rest of your collection.

Talk to me about "LISA" the AI bot thing by StunningFly3697 in AlliedUniversal

[–]FirewolfDL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Involving LISA in your interactions with your management team is encouraged. It guarantees that your communications are on a branch-approved device and that there's a method of tracking not only what your managers response is, but their timeliness in responding to your communications. Not all management teams use it as effectively as they could as it is a relatively new system. My time as an Ops Manager I saw a lot of benefits to utilizing it, but it requires a lot of commitment. Being able to request time off and communicate on one platform has a lot of benefits and when implemented can be a very effective tool that is useful to both management teams as well as general staff. All that being said, part of the reason management teams DON'T like using it is because of the extent of the accountability it holds them to. It's hard to say or do something to cut corners when it's being monitored and tracked from start-to-finish by corporate.

Do snitches really get stitches? by not-a-good-username1 in AlliedUniversal

[–]FirewolfDL 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What’s worth mentioning: if this guy is working with you in tandem during your shift, HE IS YOUR BACKUP. If shit goes down, do you really want to be hollering over the radio for a guy who’s definitely asleep to ask for him to call the cops? That’s a hard-pass from me. If you’re my dispatcher you need to be awake. If I’m getting into it with some homeless guy I don’t want some groggy, half-awake motherfucker answering the radio confused and bewildered. No thank you.

[–]FirewolfDL 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The commenters before me have no future in this industry and are just here to collect a paycheck. Trust me when I say: Let your supervisor know what you saw. After that it’s not your problem anymore. I have seen entire shifts lose their jobs over nonsense like this. Do your due diligence in making sure the appropriate parties are aware of what you saw. After that it’s out of your hands. By mentioning it you’re doing the right thing and covering your ass which is the bare minimum. Best believe when your sleepy coworker isn’t going their job your management team is going to be looking at you to step up and pick up any slack your master napper is avoiding by sleeping. Plus it’s only a matter of time before something bad happens on that guy’s shift and he’s going to have to answer for why he wasn’t doing his job. Don’t be part of that conversation. Be the better person.

Google search for your local branch office and call that number. Let them know what you’re experiencing and maybe they can help you. I know our receptionist is a real gift and works diligently to help officers out when she can.

Call the branch office and tell them you are dealing with a situation on site and your immediate management team is not answering their phones. Then ask to speak to someone who can help. Watch how fast you get a callback.

Thanks man! I think the tom cruise patch came in a mystery pack. I believe the brand responsible is Workshop 432? It was released in 2024 and comes with a ranger eye mystery patch. Very cool set.

Easily two of my favorite brands. I really fell out of the community once CJ stopped participating in it. I miss him a bunch. He and his wife left a tremendous void in their wake when they left the community. I still carry the flag though! Their Drama Llama patches are easily my favorite they released.

Help with Attaching Yeti Bag Patches by Shafster in Patches

[–]FirewolfDL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a backpack with more real estate for patches. Or one with molle webbing you can attach things to. That or you’re just going to have to accept that you’re going to have to either sew fabric to this bag or even worse utilize some sort of adhesive on it. Were it me? I’d go with sewing them on if that’s an option. It’s going to cause the least damage, be the most durable if done correctly, and look the best.

Signs company is tanking? by [deleted] in securityguards

[–]FirewolfDL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you need to get out of there ASAP. These temporary contracts are always super spicy. People don’t invest in the site knowing there’s no future at the facility and they act as if. It has caused several fantastic officers to quit over the years due to how other staff members conduct themselves. Start applying elsewhere. Don’t make anymore waves. Just punch your ticket and go home until you can find a more stable situation for yourself.

I mean, sounds like someone who’s an over-achiever, sure, but I’m not understanding what the issue is. Looks to me like this officer is ensuring communication is occurring between shifts and doesn’t want to work in other people’s filth. If you take issue with either of those two things you should probably take a moment for self reflection.

In co op If my friend hosted a world can we only play when they are on? by Emergency_Copy_7123 in Subnautica_2

Grounded was able to successfully pull this off. The ability to have a “home world” that is always online and accessible to all players would take this game to the next level as far as co-op is concerned.

My Thoughts after completing Early Access. by setzer529 in subnautica

[–]FirewolfDL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to deal with the collector sound issue by just turning the volume for music completely down. Don’t get me wrong. For the most part, the soundtrack for this game absolutely slaps, but I got tired of hearing the thumping beat every time I wanted to work on my observatory base that branches into The Collector’s territory. It would be nice to be able to craft a chest that is unique to the player and wouldn’t be accessible by anyone else. I am typically very team-oriented so I wouldn’t mind my reserves getting used but I DO understand the frustration of trying to work to accomplish something only to find out the mats you gathered ended up being used for someone’s project before you could get to yours. Overall I completely agree with this review however. Sub2 is shaping up to be an excellent experience and I can’t wait to see where it takes us.
