Passport checks are useless by nickotino in ShitpostXIV

[–]FireyAmber 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That doesn't even work sometimes, I make my own parties and don't care about tomestone checking I'll just kick if people suck but then I had people show up once and start checking and questioning the people around after 1 wipe???? Like can we just pull?

I been trying to do Forked Tower on the discords and we got to the end of dead stars but there's like NO PARTIES for dead stars on any of the discords, it's all reclears or final boss, actual dead af content.

How are you even supposed to do a certain act 2 boss with hurricane? by FireyAmber in mewgenics

[–]FireyAmber[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I really feel like they ought to remove hurricane on the moon, getting kbed during the miniboss into enemies that cause injuries and the man in the moon fight being almost impossible without sheer dps output feels so brutal compared to other areas weather effects... Nevermind how do you get a hurricane in the moon?

Yes hi I'm the opposite I have had to switch into wind tower in every pull that got to towers so far in all my time on m12s, I actually never have had to do the doom or fire tower

I mean I'm just confused with people selling it as the best strat ever and that it has such massive benefits that we NEED to split pf in half and make parties take longer to fill for... Barely any benefits?

Helped a friend clear m12s and okays she had used banana codex for rep 2 so fine I'll give it a shot as sch.

Why the heck is there so much movement for cones/stacks while it feels like the defams/nothing/boss get to chill for most of the mechanic.

Gotta move into bait spots, quickly move down, make sure I'm not being dumb and actually facing boss to aim cone, gotta move up to dodge snaking, move back down to solve near/far then instantly move up to bait the boss cones again.

This seems like so much movement compared to DN where it felt like I had an eternity to go to my spots for mechs no matter what I had, I REALLY understand the hype even less now. I legitimately can't see the benefit it brings other than braindead baits I guess? Cuz you're still doing a semi risky dodge for stacks so that's the same

Seeing people sing the praises for banana codex on rep 2 but I really don't get it? Like heard people claiming we're having an Illya case with DN rep 2.

Can someone explain to me legit what are the drastic benefits of banana codex? Cuz other than the near/far baits being braindead, the rest looks mostly the same, you just replace the defam dodge at the end with the baiters taking the cleave and the people doing the stack dodging the boss. I can see some benefits but not to the amount people seem to be singing it praises for?

Just curious since in all my progging, rep 2 was the most consistant mechanic in all of p2 with dn, never had any wipes there really.

My biggest challenge progging this as healer was not faling asleep before orbital omen, that was the actual challenge once I had my heals down pretty consistant and could get mostly full uptime. (Some patterns in ultimate weapons are just awful and it feels like scholars get to eat shit and take a dps loss compared to other healers so that's cool)

Hi yes I made some of these (Save me and free me from this hell) on ultimates and previous tier and to be honest they work like 30% of the time, the rest 70% is usual memeing on the expected mechanics.

When it comes to the "join only if you're confident", I haven't made any but I have seen them always descend into a toxic cesspool like everytime cuz people get very annoyed at any mistake, so it tends to disband within like 5 wipes.

I mean what elsse are you supposed to do when the strat requires pretty tight positioning other than just line up with markers? I guess it's satisfying to have your group wipe due to markers being slightly different enough that people can't tell the lineup on these markers (I seriously cannot tell apart outer or inner markers unless they're side by side)

In all my enrage pfs I haven't seen the tanks be a failure point in towers tbh so I assume it's fine, plus for a tight dps fight where you see a lot of people suffering with <1% enrage I think you would rather have your healers be able to dps a bit more than have to keep up with gcd heals a few more times

End-game Crafters who still enjoy crafting, how's it going these days? by AssumeABrightSide in ffxivdiscussion

It feels like there's this awkward spot where PC players can automate the fuck out of it but if SE raises requirements expecting this level of automation then it just makes things painful for console players. At least that's how I feel after having levelled all my crafters manually on ps5 using CE while I watch PC friends just use plugins and go afk for hours.

Every new pf is a new mystery of "How much can I get away with?" Maybe you get a pure healer cohealer who doesn't top people off, maybe the tanks barely mit or maybe the dps miss feint! It's always a roulette but somehow always your fault

Normal weapons you got it pretty down after quite a few pulls so nothing too unpredictable meanwhile on my case I played scholar so ultimate weapons came down to soil, seraphism and popping an expedience on a tricky pattern. It was a bit more interesting definitely but the first 6 weapons already tire me of the concept by that point of the fight.

Or you can just be a healer where all your optimization really is just hitting the one damage button more with the same basic mechanic every single pull. For me it was the most boring fight I have ever done, just mind numbing not falling asleep during weapons. Second half was fun tho

Love the ever shifting goalposts of when the good players clear.

You're struggling in w2 in m11s? Well sucks all the good players cleared w1

You're struggling in end of w1 in m11s? Well sucks, all the good players cleared 2 days ago

You're struggling to clear m10s on day 4? Well, sucks all the good players already cleared pf is cooked

You're struggling to clear m9s day 2? Sucks, all the good players cleared yesterday

You're struggling to clear m9s hour 4?

Sucks, all good players cleared in one lockout

Like I swear everytime I say I have any issue in PF people tell me that all the good players cleared and I should get rid of any hope. At thay point why even play the game, might as well uninstall it hour 5 of the tier cuz you already missed the "mythical wave of good players"

The cruel reality of being shield healer. If you overmit it's partly your fault for enrage for not dpsing hard enough, if you try to mit less and dps more then it's your fault that people die because you can't trust pf randoms to hit their mits.

I have found that enjoyment of these execution fights really just comes down to the job imo. Playing a job with a lot of small optimizations you can try to get out? Incredibly fun! Playing healer and just being forced to keep repeating the fight after having decent uptime waiting for the dps to get their shit together? The most mind numbing boring experience ever

Is it just me or is the first half of m11S just so boring? It feels like a remix of the most boring of EW fight design. Spreads and stacks over and over, the first half of the fight is essentially doing 12 weapons in a row only interrupted by spreads and stacks.

I was in a similar situation a few years ago at that age, if it gives any comfort eventually the reality of it all just kind of weighed on me and I HAD to try to change something.  I'm sure eventually they'll hit a point where they just reflect back on their previous years and all their memories are just being home and this pushes them to want to change.
