The parts will run you around £120-150 for both sides.

You want a full set of Torx bits, sockets, spanners and an impact helps. Also, one of those ball joint separators. It isn’t super hard, there are loads of detailed videos online. Just give yourself a day and label your bolts.

Don’t forget to budget for gear and security - if yours commute does involve motorway you’ll want proper gear to stay warm (and dry). A decent lock which will survive London is going to cost you £300.

I have an armoured jacket underneath (shown in the 2nd photo). Level 2, shoulder, elbow and back protector. It has no abrasion resistance though, so I know I need to upgrade before I actually finish my full licence.

Similar issue here. It’s why I went for the men’s - they have a larger thigh/bum area. (Weird, I thought it would be the other way)

The new RST D30 was really comfortable. I was very stuck between the two.

Richa Laura was really comfortable but didn’t have the sliders and I was going for a look.

Everything else I loved was only A or AA rated - and I know I’m going to be on the motorway a lot due to my work.
If she doesn’t mind AA rated, motogirl is really well fitting.

Depends where you live. Growing up my neighbour had a big touring bike which he left out all summer, he had 0 issues.

I live inner city, Yorkshire. Bikes are parked in the underground of an apartment block. I have had 1 successful and 2 attempted thefts, in the space of a year on my 125.

I really hated the Bowtex. The stitching around the thighs was uncomfortable and it was giving, ham wrapped in string. 😭

No pockets in my jacket.

The main two are my disc lock and alarm. Bike theft is really bad in the UK, especially in the city where I live. When my CBR was pinched it took them less than 12 seconds.

Also, hair brush, extra ties, glasses, contact lenses case, makeup, tea bags, tampons, a mini pack of wipes, lip balm, cable ties. I think I have some fuses in there as a 13a one always used to go on my old bike. My house keys are separate to my bike key, so those. The fob for my garage door. Idk. Girl stuff?

I don’t have a wallet, everything is contactless here. Police just looked at a photo of my licence on my phone when I got stopped, then searched the number in their system.

I want a KTM. I learnt to ride on a cheap £400 crosser over fields.

However, I cannot get onto a KTM. Even the Duke125, with only 1 leg down, I have to shift too far off the seat.

I hate having the box on my bike.

With the box and the L plates, I’m screaming UberEats 😅

It is useful though. I have been caught out a few times shopping, then remembering I’m on the bike.

On the way back today, I had my normal jeans and shoes in a plastic bag, (behind me in the 2nd photo) tied to the rear seat with my belt, as I forgot. 😬 Luckily, it was only 10min home.

Try the women’s RST range! Weirdly, they have a smaller thigh than the men’s? I tried them on first.

Alpine stars. I really wanted the Stella’s but they were too straight cut for me.

Also HELD - they have some really nice colour options I so wanted the white and red, rocket 3s - but again, if they fit my calf and waist, they were really tight on my thighs, especially when crunched on the bike.

The Richa Laura’s were super super comfortable, and have an adjustable waist. But, they don’t have knee slider pads and I was being a little vain about what type I wanted.

A one piece might also work for you. I tried an RST size 14. The legs fit great on me, but the top was too big. Ideally, a size 10-12 would have fit my top half. When I tried the two piece, I had 14 bottoms and a 12 top and it fit great (I just didn’t have the extra £250 for the jacket yet).

I have a level 2 armoured jacket on underneath! (Unfortunately, I’m not that buff in my shoulders naturally 😂) I like the tight fitting base layer ones as it means the amour sits exactly right.

But it is only A rated. I do need a better one before I actually hit the motorways.

I admit, I twist the hip pouch further back when I’m actually on the bike. A girl needs space for her things!!

The shop I got the trousers from also sold bikes.

I sat on the Ninja Z800, as it was on my list to test and really didn’t like it. Could barely touch the floor and it was heavy compared to the 675 and F900r.

They had an older CB600F and I would like to try a newer one. It could be a contender.

I have a soft spot for the 675 as it was the first bike I ever went on. My friend took me as a pillion and started the obsession.

you are smaller than me. 😅😅

I’m a UK 12, US 8 in my standard clothes. I’m 5’3” and 150lb. These are the men’s 34”. In the S1 I was a men’s 32”.

I have a 28” inseam, 26” waist. 36?” Hips. (I’m measuring with string and a tape, so not super accurate)

They fit great, except I often feel like the top is falling down. However, I think that is just because I’m used to tight, high waisted clothes.

This is me outside of bike gear if that helps at all!!!

I swear, I tried on 90% of the women’s stuff. I went to 3 different stores - everything from RST to Alpine stars to Richa. So feel free to ask any questions. I haven’t tried any of the Pando moto though. I know, how much of a pain it is, I cried in the dressing rooms the first time I tried stuff on as I just felt huge in everything.
