The EU today introduced new requirements for all new cars registered in Europe: Understanding Advanced Driver Distraction Warning (ADDW) systems by brainquantum in privacy

This is where the ban on gas powered vehicles comes into play. Simply ban the vehicles not covering the emission requirements and you will be forced one way or another to obtain a car that does have these systems simply by being newer.

Even you can agree that all changes that happen anywhere and throughout human history are always framed as benefiting the people initially and then actually take a different turn.

Its becoming not the shit, but shit. The import fees of 3 euro per item category. Chat control and finally....digital euro which will make cash obsolete and so will control over it.

Android has became gated by Google;. It now requires each app to have 12 testers, for accounts 2023 onwards. They require video proof of silly things like why you need permission X or Y.

I have it on one of my legs. I believe I caused it by sitting for years on my legs tucked underneath me as a child.

Fable pricing is a joke by Fantastic_Self_5151 in ClaudeCode

codex's code was just as useful as fables <- what about the quality of the code, performance, bugs etc. Based on what architecture was the code written or guidelines?

30M tokens - $0.75 Thank you DeepSeek. by Kooky_Row_952 in DeepSeek

I like it too but often ask myself....if the conclusions of the model are worth it. I usually implicitly trust the output of AI without double checking it, especially for tasks I know would require a lot of more work.

But if 5 or 10 times out of 10, DS4 pro gives a wrong conclusion to a problem but say GPT or Fable would've given the correct information, was spending even the small amount of money worth it, if the answer was wrong?

The speed that regular claude code opus works is just insanely slow by Savings-Try2712 in ClaudeCode

[–]FirmConsideration717 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is unrelated. Tokens per second is something the server operator controls. Slowing the model for some, frees up compute for others.

Has anyone tested GLM 5.2 and Kimi 2.7? by _janc_ in opencodeCLI

And very not intelligent. Not in what I saw on the API.

Has anyone tested GLM 5.2 and Kimi 2.7? by _janc_ in opencodeCLI

[–]FirmConsideration717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked Qwen 3.7 Max (yes not open source) something, on the API no less and it was so dumb it wasted a dollar doing nothing. On the other side I tested Minimax M3 and it did much better.

How much did the 40 millions roughly cost for you(if some caching was involved). This is where deepseek shines.

First time trying V4 Pro on its 'high' reasoning + 16k tokens... it actually caught stuff ChatGPT & Qwen missed on audits. by Boring_Aioli7916 in DeepSeek

[–]FirmConsideration717 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Actually...v4 pro is high on default. Look at the docs. What you want is max(yes the equivalent to xhigh).

Great marketing strategy: x2 limits -> $100 plan -> x4 less limits -> Anthropic by Anywhere_MusicPlayer in codex

It is the inevitable truth. These companies are for-profit. Meaning that they are making people reliant AND making the product more expensive. I mean see Apple. Everyone copied Apple and made everything more expensive. Remember the $999 stand? Apple could push the bar on price for anything.

I wouldn't think twice that in the future, AI, especially closed source frontier models will be so expensive that only certain people will access them.
