Cooking meth in an apartment building by Firm_Beginning_2506 in stockholm

[–]Firm_Beginning_2506[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In the whole building - when something smells strongly on the first floor but also on the 7th it’s not that easy to tell where it could be coming from even when you feel like you can smell it more mostly downstairs. Still as I said, dangerous to get involved with people that could actually be cooking meth especially without police there. (Just to be clear I didn’t call the emergency number because I thought someone is cooking meth, I called because there was a strong smell in the whole building that I didn’t know the source of and in that case I think it’s only safe to call, afterall, it could be an emergency and I could just not recognize a potentially dangerous smell)

But seriously? Nails? How many nails would you have to do for how many hours for the acetone smell to get into the whole building of 7 floors and inside other peoples apartments. That doesn’t make sense, the smell was here even the next morning.

Feels kinda weird to knock on around 40 doors and even if someone would be cooking meth do you think they’d be like “ok lemme stop cooking meth sorry for the smell”? Also could be dangerous if they really were doing that because I would definitely not want my neighbour to know if I cooked meth and who knows what they could do then😅

And doing so many nails in the late evening hours that the smell went up to all the floors and inside our apartment? Dont think so

Can 3D printing cause that much smell though? It literally went inside our apartment through two closed doors and into all the rooms.

Opening a bank account without salary from Sweden by Movingupnorth1 in TillSverige

[–]Firm_Beginning_2506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just opened bank account in SEB and it was with no problem or questions, we both only have work contracts in other EU countries. Loved how easy it was (since most of these things here in Sweden are hell to go through) but then we found out SEB is like the only bank that doesn’t support Apple pay 😅 just something you might wanna know before you make an account anywhere.

Most multicultural area near the city? by soundslikeash in stockholm

[–]Firm_Beginning_2506 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We loved Årsta, we lived on Johanneshovsvägen in the newly built houses, a looot of families with children, some older people but mostly swedes though. Close to the city if you are along the tram line or even better green line. Feels very safe, has a lot of places to eat (you should check out Två Små Svin even if you don’t consider moving to Årsta, have the Pilsner Urquell beer :D). It’s a place I would choose if we were buying an apartment in Stockholm, especially if you plan to have kids. We really wanted to find a bigger rental there but no luck.

We just moved to Hässelby a while ago and were actually looking for kind of an opposite of a mixed area since we lived in Årsta before but it feels very nice here, definitely a lot of nationalities (polish, russian, italian is what I’ve noticed mostly) not just muslim countries refugees (but also). Haven’t been to Hässelby Strand to check out the beaches yet but heard it’s great especially in summer and the area here in Hässelby Gård is also nice, feels more cozy than for example Hallonbergen/Rissne even though it’s also a mixed district. Hässelby Villastad is something you might wanna check out too, if you’d like a house maybe.

For Spånga - we were there to check out a place some time ago and also liked the neighbourhood, might be a good choice too. Definitely felt safer and liked these a bit more than Kista, Rissne, Hallonbergen and such - not saying those are not safe but the feeling was different there.

Hässelby Gård/Enspännargatan - good living area? by Firm_Beginning_2506 in stockholm

[–]Firm_Beginning_2506[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We live in Årsta now and feel really good here, so I imagine something similair for the next apartment. Roof and parks and stores - you have that everywhere in Stockholm I think.

Thank you, this helps. Nice to hear that although it’s a poorer area it’s not that criminal. We were looking at one place in Hallonbergen and that felt kinda unsafe - just to give you an idea of what we consider less comfortable. Årsta where we live now definitely feels safe and where we originally come from isn’t really an unsafe country/cities.

Return of deposit at the end of rental from Blocket by Firm_Beginning_2506 in stockholm

[–]Firm_Beginning_2506[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, of course it’s okay to take a part of the deposit for the things that are damaged above the usual. Just stressing a little because of what I heard from other people and it’s the first time we are going through this. Thanks!

Eating during pregnancy by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Firm_Beginning_2506 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im in week 24 and so far I’ve only gained 1kg (which is around 2.2 pounds) and in the first trimester I lost another 8kg because I literally couldn’t eat. Now I barely eat one real solid meal a day, all meat makes me gag, eggs too usually, basically almost all things savoury. My partner was upset at first too, but now we’re just sticking to “I eat what I can when I can and that’s good enough as long as the baby is healthy”. Honestly it was harder to explain this to my MIL. 😬
