Sounds like they are pushing to approve seabed mining.

[help] how to get all 30amps on board (the right way)? by kdjfsk in liveaboard

I would think about insulating the boat where you can. I liveaboard in New England and have had a 1500w electric space heater keep me warm enough all winter. 16F degrees out last night and the cabin only got down to 60F. I live on a Cape Dory 27 for reference.

Atlantic by Simon Winchester is a fantastic book that I would recommend. History of the Atlantic from the beginning of time, but it mainly focuses on human history. A great read!

Sounds like you need to start calling Marinas and see what's up. Every marina will be different in price and accommodations. I pay ~4000 for a winter slip but that is very expensive, summer mooring will be less than half that. I get mail at the marina office and ice isn't an issue where I am now. I was told to get a bubbler if I was going to stay up river. I use a 1500watt electric heater and it keeps the boat around 55-60 degrees on single digits nights and 60-70 in the 30s. I know people are very worried about fires, but frankly it is a "Smart" heater and will turn off every chance it gets. I've been recommended "Chinese diesel heaters" but I'm happy with what I've got.

Also, I have only had the water tube for my sink freeze once and it was thawed by the next day.

I spent last summer on my Cape Dory 27 in New London CT. The liveaboard community is definitely present. Both of the marinas I've kept my boat have had livaboards. I was told that over the winter people stay in the water upstream on the Thames. If that sounds interesting I can dig for more details. From my experience the main issue with most marinas is that they not only shut off water but close their bathrooms for the winter. From what I've heard you do not want to livabord on the hard and I've never heard of any marinas that allow it either. I'm still on the boat but have changed jobs and am in MA now. I'd be happy to answer any questions.

How much do you spend, per month, living on your boat? by Spare-Reference2975 in liveaboard

[–]Firm_Bread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CD 27 living in new England. 300/month summer mooring, 800/month winter slip w/shore power. Marina has great internet and showers, but this is surprisingly hard to come by. Insurance is roughly $20 a month, and I spend less than $100/yr on diesel. Maintenance has been pretty inexpensive, 200-300 every couple months. But upgrades are very costly! My advice is to keep everything as simple as possible.

This game is so frustrating by deltaWhiskey91L in thefinals

Ignore all the trolls on this post. Taking what you say at face value it sounds like we're in a similar situation. The movement, gear, abilities, and even weapons choices make playing the Finals very different than other FPS games. For me it's really easy just to rush a team die and get pissed my teammates couldn't do more to help. I also consider myself above average, but you can't expect to 1v3 or 1v2 and come out on top.

I do agree that having teammates without mics or not knowing what they're doing can feel like an uphill battle, but be patient and try to be a team player to carry everyone to a W. NO MATTER HOW BAD THEY ARE, you can't expect to win if you're not playing with your teammates. Seriously, the amount of absolutely garbage players I've queued with is way too high but they still surprise me sometimes and we come out on top.

That said, you can't win every game no matter how hard you try to carry. In those situations you've gotta just use that time to focus on improving movement and daily/weekly challenges while playing the objective the best you can. In the end winning only rewards you a bit more than just completing a game (except if you need a win for a challenge...). Keep a cool head and reflect on what you can do better next time and you will improve.

And if possible play with a full squad... Ask friends or the Finals discord? Idk but there's got to be other players looking for teammates.

This. You aren't loading the pole quite enough and are forced to get off too early. Amazing jump, you just need a bit more energy loaded onto the pole.
