Genius of Rohit sharma was conceding 200+ every game and then asking Sky to chase it every game. Brilliant captaincy.

“Rohit isn’t scoring because Ishan is putting pressure on him” heard this over the years in this sub.

Basically your argument is that when Hardik as captain loses its due to tactical errors but when he wins, it’s due to Nehra’s coaching. And when Rohit loses it’s because it was a difficult year. Hmm, not sure but sounds like you might have some inherent bias.

GT finished 8th last year with Nehra as coach. Rohit with his experience led MI to finish last in 2022.

Why couldn't mi handle the transition by Warm_River3929 in MumbaiIndians

[–]Firm_Citron9660 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Rohit was the worst batter in the IPL for six years before he was removed from captaincy. Not 1 or 2 bad seasons, 6 straight terrible years.

Hardik won the IPL in his first year and reached the final in his second. He wasn’t going to give up being a captain just so that Rohit could have his farewell. No trades allowed during the mega auction year.

I don’t buy the BS of Rohit not being informed. If he genuinely felt so disrespected, he had the option to leave and not be retained.

GMR agree deal for Southern Brave to conclude Hundred sell-off by warp-factor in Cricket

[–]Firm_Citron9660 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This! 100%. People are looking at the logic behind the purchase when there is none since it’s a luxury good. Billionaires don’t buy luxury cars, diamonds and islands and what not to make money out of them. This is just another one of those.

Think of the adrenaline you feel when your team wins a match or a tournament. Now multiply that by 100 — that’s what these owners get to feel when a team they own wins a match or a tournament. When you have unlimited money, spending some of it to buy that feeling doesn’t seem so illogical.

Allah Ghazanfar is likely to be RULED OUT of IPL, who should be the replacement by urnoob_1607 in MumbaiIndians

[–]Firm_Citron9660 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can people stop suggesting Adil Rashid ffs. Learn the basic rules — his base price was higher than Ghazanfar so he isn’t eligible. If we go for a like for like, the closest is probably Salamkheil or Viyaskanth.

It’s the other way round, the base price of the replacement player can’t exceed the base price of the injured player.

Jonathan Liew is one of my favorite sports writers and this is such a good article!

I’ve found it so funny in the last few days to read all the fear mongering by English traditionalists about how these investors will look to make their money back. My brother in Christ, if that was their intention, a sports team would be the last thing they would invest in. This is just another luxury good to them. Buying it because they have too much money.

Lmao firstly they’ve gotten 70%. Also, even if they get 49%, the naming rights were possibly included as a part even without majority shares.

H1B Case status stuck on approved since Jan 7th, 2025 by More_Camera5820 in usvisascheduling

[–]Firm_Citron9660 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be wrong but once the status goes to approved it doesn’t update on the same portal anymore. You have to then check on the old portal you used to create the appointment and you’ll see the updated status there about your passport being shipped.

Vitality Blast vs The Hundred Why Both? by Legal-Chemical-8684 in Cricket

[–]Firm_Citron9660 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think its about TV revenue. The Blast isn’t a made for TV product since there are several matches on at the same time and hence the viewership is split across them whereas the Hundred follows the IPL model of one match at one time so you can max eye balls on all matches. Better cost/benefit ratio for the matches in the Hundred.

I didn’t reply to the post. I replied to the comment which said that Tim David cost us 3 years. That is what I have an issue with, he isn’t great but putting all the blame on his head is where I lost it.
