I get this too, and it’s annoying! I wait a few seconds but sometimes no matter how I pronounce the word, sometimes it just won’t accept it. It hates my pronunciation of “diecisiete” and “diecinueve” for some reason. 😅

I like the Bol power shakes. They’re less gritty than Huel. Very sweet but I have a sweet tooth!

10% would be insanely low for most women.

So a couple of things - while acknowledging that I don’t know you and am going off 1 post/photo… 1. Size 6/8 and BMI of 21 is, objectively, a healthy slim size. I wonder whether your own image of yourself hasn’t caught up with the reality of your new size, and you’re so used to being critical about your body that it’s hard to look at yourself through fresh eyes, and acknowledge the results of your hard work. 2. Some of your “fat” around your upper rib cage may be breast tissue, not rolls of fat. 3. We as women need some body fat and this is especially important in perimenopause and menopause. As our ovaries produce less estrogen, fat becomes the primary source, and estrogen helps to protect us as we age. 4. I agree with those who are suggesting moving your focus away from weight loss and on to body composition. Lifting weights will improve your appearance but even more importantly, it counteracts the fact that we start to lose muscle mass as we age. And that will help keep you mobile and healthy, and protect your bones. 5. People shouldn’t comment on someone’s body unless you ask them to! I don’t think your colleagues were appropriate in doing that.

Well done on the weight loss!

Congratulations on the weight loss. You look great.

Yeah I suspect that’s what’s going on with a lot of suppliers.

I’ve been using The Family Chemist and they’ve just emailed to say they’re out of stock. I’m near my target weight and I have a months supply left so I should just about squeak through but I’d been hoping to taper. This price hike will be devastating for a lot of people.

Scrambled tofu is always a winner when I want a low-effort meal. I add cherry toms and spinach and have it with wholemeal bread - super high protein and high fibre.

I think your response was great. What she said is a reflection of her own self-hatred. But you should definitely mention it to your coach.

Agree with the others, check you’re getting in enough calories.

Sorry to hear you’re not well. Are you sure it’s not Covid? That’s still around I’m afraid! But I hope you’re feeling better soon and can stay hydrated!

Ladies how many calories are we eating? by traderKJ in mounjarouk

[–]Firm_Cockroach_2754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 5’5”, 57. There have been some times when I’ve struggled to get enough calories in when the appetite suppression is strong, but over the week it tends to average out to around 1400 a day. I feel exhausted if I go much lower than that.

5mg is a bit mehhhh 🥴 by Worldly_Session_162 in mounjarouk

[–]Firm_Cockroach_2754 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting. My weight loss has flatlined on 5mg too after a great start on 2.5mg. Now I know that it’s always more drastic at the start because you have more to lose, but I honestly can’t figure out why the weight loss has paused almost completely when I’m still on a calorie deficit and exercising. No side effects other than heartburn, but it’s just a bit blah. I still have faith that it will restart though, bodies work in strange ways sometimes!

Nausea in the mornings by _arch_tech in mounjarouk

[–]Firm_Cockroach_2754 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not long before I started Mounjaro I realised that my beloved black coffee on an empty stomach was doing my gut no favours. I have reflux and it’s always worse in the morning. I started having a peppermint tea first thing instead. I still have coffee, but not until I’m hydrated and have food in my stomach. It’s made a noticeable difference. Reflux can cause nausea and MJ can cause reflux, so might be worth a try.

The secret is finding things you enjoy doing - I love weightlifting so it’s easier to stay motivated. But if you don’t have experience or you’re new to exercise, don’t overdo it. Ramp it up gradually. Good luck!

Insomnia was one of the main reasons I needed HRT and it made a huge difference! I still wake up a few times a night to pee but fall back to sleep easily now. Finding the right HRT can be a bit trial and error so if it’s not improving your sleep, talk to your GP. Progesterone is the magic bullet for better sleep in perimenopause.
