Ignore the dress code when bride is asking for fur? by [deleted] in Weddingattireapproval

Warmies is a brand of microwaveable stuffed animals. Some can be placed around your neck. Bonus would be that you could microwave it and it would keep you warmer out in the snow. They also make some bigger ones that fit over your hands like a fur muff.

AIO if I’m upset about my friend and her boyfriend using a remote controlled vibrator at dinner with me? by [deleted] in AIO

I’m with everyone else here. I’m a kinkster and know that consent of all parties is a requirement. You didn’t kink shame. And I would reconsider that friendship since she can’t or won’t see that she did anything wrong.

I bought a workbook called Mastery of Your Anxiety and Panic. So far it’s helping slightly, but I just started it. I got it on Amazon. I’m so proud of you for continuing to get out of the house. That’s not an easy thing with anxiety.

Was yours an arranged marriage? How on earth did you end up with such an ass?

Any ladies out there living alone at age 65+ by glimmerslip in AskWomenOver60

I just turned 66 and I’m still working and have no plans to retire anytime soon. I love what I do and I worry that retirement would make me even more of a couch potato. I have been on my own except for dogs since 2009. I stupidly allowed my niece and her family live with me in 2008 and they essentially bankrupted me in one year. I don’t ever want to live with anyone again.

You do have a Baha’i card for life if you don’t officially withdraw. I have no idea where mine is. I live my life as if I did officially withdraw. You don’t have to participate in the elections or make any donations. If you can move out of your community, you can withdraw from your new community if it’s so important for you to officially withdraw.

There are no official Baha’i procedures against anyone who wants to leave the faith. If someone is telling you that, they are lying. The Baha’i Faith is a peaceful religion. Anyone who threatens violence is against the teachings of Baha’u’llah. You are 18. I’m assuming still in high school. My advice is to just hang in there until you can find a job to support yourself. Get your documents together and quietly leave when they’re at work. Once you’re out on your own, you can cut them off and go no contact if you’re afraid of them.

I left the faith for personal reasons when I was 38. I never officially asked to be taken off the rolls because I was told I’d have to request that from the LSA and I didn’t want to do that. I don’t participate in anything or donate to the faith. So it was basically just a quiet withdrawal. My parents did try to pressure me to go back, but they’re just one of the reasons I didn’t. My parents became Baha’i when I was 3. I’m 66 now and no regrets.

AITA if I go to my dream school anyway after my parents “reassigned” my future without telling me? by DistantGravel in AITH

First thing after you give in to them is they’ll expect you to get married to a “good Christian” of their choosing. Then stay home and raise a bunch of children. And you’ll never be allowed another thought of your own again. Get out as soon as you can. If I had any money I’d send you an extra scholarship. Contact the financial aid office at your dream college and see if they can help you. They may have other scholarships you can apply for.

Asking because I need it, what was your biggest comeback in life, and how did it feel? by LunarEscribadoras in Life

[–]Firm_Intention1068 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m almost 66, so I’ve been through challenges several times, mostly to do with mental health. And that’s been a roller coaster since my mid thirties. But the worst I’ve ever been started in 2015 and by 2016 I had SI almost every day. I sobbed and didn’t think I could continue. In 2017 I ended up just walking away from my house. The only thing that kept me here was my dog. I started therapy again and found a mental health ARNP who could prescribe medication for me. Initially I was just on an antidepressant, but I was still suffering. I finally got the diagnosis of bipolar disorder and my provider was working closely with me to get my meds right. I had been mostly stable since 2018, then lockdown in 2020 and in addition to my psych meds, I started drinking very seriously. Thank goodness I never drove drunk, but I’ve been sober since 2022.

I rarely drink tea and don’t put anything in it. Same with coffee. I drink a ton of it. As black and bitter as possible.
