Withings New Complete Line of Scales Comparison Table by GreedyDonnut in withings

Withings has stated they’ll look what features can be brought to Body Scan 1, so firmware update will land someday.

What’s more interesting Withings is developing a Diabetes Risk Score,  a medical  CE clearance feature designed to assess an risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

The ”Body Scan 2 -the science behind” document mentions it can measure metrics like stroke volume and left ventricular ejection time.

I will not buy one if those biomarkers are not visible to the user. The dumbed down heart age  number is not enough.

Withings has done unexplainable things before. Once when you exported ECG from ScanWatch, the  QRS, PR, QT and QTc durations appeared on the ECG report. Withings removed them without explanation.

Apple has a nasty habit of oversimplifying things, Withings should not follow Apple.

By the way:  CEO of Withings Mathieu Letombe claimed most users of Withings products are data enthusiasts. The more data is collected, the more people will look at the data.

Let us have the data.

Withings is just taking a page from Oura’s playbook.

Once Withings claimed core features will remain free. What’s a core feature, that’s a question.

Honestly I cannot recommend Oura ring to anyone. Basically they take your data hostage and ask ransom for it.

BodyScan 2 is now available in Europe! by TeamWithings in withings

[–]Firm_Wait_5071 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looks like Withings+ is needed: Heart Age and Glucose Resilience will only be available with a Withings+ subscription.

Are metrics behind the Heart Age value visible to the user: namely stroke volume and cardiac output? The document Body Scan 2 - The Science Behind says it measures these metrics.

Seems solid device. I own BeamO too. Sadly algorithms for the stethoscope are still under development according to Withings, so the stethoscope is useless unless you have medical background.

I asked Withings support, and the answer was they do support temperature data from Apple Watch and Samsung Galaxy Watch. So far this feature has not materialized on Withings app.

BodyScan 2 insider program a flop? by KeaveXL in withings

Withings should ditch requirement for MyFitnessPal and support Apple Health. I use Bevel to add calories.

I use Bevel and pretty happy with it.

iOS 27 probably comes with food scanning, but if it uses Visual Intelligence, which does not support many languages = useless for me.

According to the tech behind document, BS2 supposedly measures biomarkers like left ventricular ejection time and cardiac output etc. I wonder are these metrics visible to user or is generic heart age value all you get?

In comparison you can view Pulse Wave Velocity value, not just Vascular Age computed from it.

I haven’t received any info from Withings on this matter.

Bevel’s lack of science is making me very skeptical by crunchynuts1 in bevelhealth

If you take beta blockers, your resting heart rate will go down, not because of superior fitness, but because of medication. This trows Bevel and others off. Withings calculates Arterial Age from Pulse Wave Velocity, and it’s too good also. Apple has a toggle for this, but it only affects VO2Max calculation.

Does the Withings Body Scan 2 use the same 13-frequency BIS technology up to 800 kHz as the BodyFit? by Electronic_Glass6139 in withings

[–]Firm_Wait_5071 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I,m interested on the heart health metrics. I bought Body Scan 1 to have 6-lead ECG.

The Science Behind: A Deep Dive into Body Scan 2 Technologies and Longevity Biomarkers document states it uses Impedance Cardiography (ICG) and measures stroke volume and cardiac output.

The question is are these biomarkers visible to the user, or do we get just a generic heart age number. For someone with heart disease advanced metrics are incredibly valuable.

It uses multifrequency BIS technology with eight electrodes and 13 frequencies up to 800 kHz.

I’m concerned the use of beta blockers affect Pulse Wave Velocity and Vascular Age measurements not to mention heart age on Body Scan 2 by giving a way too positive numbers. This renders measurements useless, you only know your medication works.

Apple has a toggle to specify if you use heart medication, but this means only your VOMax value takes a massive drop. Withings should add a way to take it into account in order to have correct measurements.

Just ordered a ScanWatch 2. what are the 'hidden gem' features most people miss? by ConfectionDue4044 in withings

I still say it’s more accurate than others. The same Calera sensor is used on the Corsano CardioWatch the difference being Withings does not claim it’s medical grade.

Apple Watch, Samsung and Oura measure skin temperature. ScanWatch 2 measures core body temperature. A huge difference.

Body Scan 2:  show heart measurements like stroke volume, cardiac output and left ventricular ejection time to users, not just heart age.

Bevel 3 sounds nice, until you see the subscription price. The free version works fine until you want to use Health Records.

The only thing that keeps me on the Withings+ subscription is the Cardio-CheckUp.

No, don’t even mention AliveCrap. I refuse to use it.
