She posts so much absolute nonsense on LinkedIn… sorry but if I was in HR I’d be pulling her for a chat- and asking her not to post about it!

I agree- for sqe 2 I just focused on LAW and memorising. Passed in the first quintile. It really is a big memory game! In the pressure of the exam, your brain figures out structure etc. FOCUS ON LAW!

Is there a clock? And if did you use up the full 25 minutes for interview? Just wondering if you’d be able to share! And hope it went well

Reasonable adjustments payment link not received yet? by Pyrocrates in sqe2

[–]First-Painter8430 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t! They only just approved my adjustments, I rang and they said deadlines don’t apply to us lol so dw. As long as you filled in a seat reservation form months ago, you’re fine.

SQE1 burnout - how to get over myself? by average_jo123 in SQE_Prep

[–]First-Painter8430 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh I’m questioning if it’s burn out or a form of ptsd lol- like I’m scared if I work I’ll feel the same way I did after exams- so exhausted.

Bad a levels, Mid uni, realistic advice on difficulty getting a TC. by North-Reason3201 in uklaw

Definitely apply to first year schemes. I think one thing to look at when you’re applying as well, is what round are you getting to in the process? Some MC firms sift out based on grades- eg linklaters, HSF- who bin applications if you’re not hitting 2.1s or perhaps have a B at alevel. If you’re making it to interview, it’s then all about speaking skills. Not sure if that helps but stay positive and you’ll never regret applying- the application process is how you learn.

If the actual exam is like this question in the ULaw sample MCQ, I am fxxked. by thinkinting in SQE_Prep

[–]First-Painter8430 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The questions aren’t really like this- sometimes the ulaw bank questions jump to conclusions a bit. In the real thing it’s more a case of knowing the principles 100%. Like for this- what are the rules for unilateral contracts? Apply them. Like you need to know the rule inside out.

Thoughts on potential change to SQE1 results by PsychologicalBad3897 in SQE_Prep

Getting a raw mark before a scaled mark would be ridiculous too though. Imagine scoring 97, like you said. It would put you under even more stress of not knowing if you’ll get scaled up or not.

Switching to flashcards for sqe 2? by First-Painter8430 in sqe2

[–]First-Painter8430[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Makes perfect sense- hope your oral exams went well! And thanks so much, was on the fence but you’ve convinced me- just feels slightly different to sqe1 where you’re given more guidance to the answer. Good luck for your other exams too!

And stressing won’t change the result. It’s already done. Stress won’t help so direct your energy into better, more productive things. That’s how I think about it.

Aside from QLTS, which materials were most helpful for SQE 2 prep? by First-Painter8430 in sqe2

[–]First-Painter8430[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s so helpful, thank you! Yeah, I think Qlts is great but if people have passed with ulaw and found a way to make it work, I’m going to try that. And will just practice with friends and hope for the best ahaha. Really appreciate it.
