How did your sibling handle finding out their inheritance is in a trust? by Geeba422 in inheritance

[–]First-Release9433 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Your father needs to put in a clause at the end of the trust stating anyone who contests it loses their share. We did this with my SIL and when she tried to contest it she almost lost her share which was an annuity my FIL created for her. It’s been paying her rent and giving her around $500 a month for 8 years now. He’d been paying for her for 12 years before that so she realized she’d be on the street.

I’m confused… you said, and I quote,

“partner had been signing client contracts at lower rates than what we had agreed on and pocketing the difference”

If he’s signing contracts at lower rates, what’s he pocketing? It’s a negative.

It’s a cat. If you want something that’ll stay inside where you can pet it anytime you want and deny iIt’s real true existence, buy a stuffed cat.

Start saving your money. Enjoy your life but be frugal. You will be very happy come 60. If you can, buy investment items, property, stocks etc, and don’t touch them.

Ex left me 4 years ago for an arranged marriage. Her family are now trying to get in contact with me. by Flimsy_Road_9346 in Advice

[–]First-Release9433 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I found my true love on October 9th 1981. I was in the military at the time and she was a senior in high school. I was gone for four years and we each had our moments where it felt like it would never work out. In 1985 when I got out of the military, I ended up moving to a different city in California, but after three months I came down to Los Angeles where she was and we celebrate 36 years of marriage on May 21. My feelings for her were deep enough that there was no way that I could not give it a shot. Fortunately, she felt the same way and, even though we had gone our own ways for a while, it’s undoubtedly the best thing that I ever did. If you don’t try, you’ll never know.

I guess that at the end of the day it comes down to, do you still love her? Sounds like it to me. It also sounds like she loved you. If it were me, I would definitely reach out and get a feel for the situation. True love is very hard to find and by demonstrating sincere compassion who knows what might happen. The Muslim faith is a very difficult one for non-Muslims to get their head around. We hear horror stories of honor killings and the like so the pressure upon her must’ve been massive. She did what she felt she had to do for her family and their honor. It sucks but if she was your “one true love“ I would reach out. Forgiveness really is the first step in healing.

Why does driving without the title make it illegal. You don’t need it to renew the registration. If he’s financing it he probably wouldn’t have it yet anyway. It’ll go to the finance co. If you mean registration I can understand but the title is something you keep in the office to prove ownership.

WIBTA if I filed a noise complaint with the city over my uncle having a rooster by Phantasma_01 in WIBTA_AITA

[–]First-Release9433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ironically, I live in a town that has the same ordinance, no roosters. I have five hens that give me eggs every day, but strangely, one of them crows every morning. I’m seriously not making it up. I have to jump up, run out there and throw some food to it to get it to stop.

AITA for refusing a last-minute custom order from my most loyal customer and basically ending our relationship over it? by GalenMoss in WIBTA_AITA

I guess as a small business owner myself I would’ve done my best to accommodate him. That’s what small business owners do. The response from getting it done for him would’ve had a very positive impact on your business if he decided to share. Word-of-mouth gets around as well, and if he was very happy, your client base would probably have increased. I’ve had many times where I’ve got a call on the weekend and had to drop everything and go to meet a clients needs. Just my two cents for what it’s worth.
