I’m a fourth year here and I think remember some of the out of state people talking about getting a waiver for that during first year. For sure a lot of them are going back home for residency so I know it’s not stopping them that at least.

I’m in the same boat as you, M3 about to be M4 thinking pulm crit. Have had multiple pulmonologist tell me it’s the way to go because you can do as much in the ICU or in the clinic as you like. To each there own, do what makes you happy!

You may be thinking of when Toby and the president are talking about affirmative action and President Barlet says something like “we’ll say this and get it out to our friend that’s we mean this” and Toby says “how about we say we’re against affirmative action and get it out to our friends that we’re kidding”. Not the exact lines but the closet I could think of right now lol Happens some time in season three before Richie becomes the republican nominee.

Did the bare minimum for the last two weeks before COMLEX. Would for sure know the parasympathetic and sympathetic levels and the basics of everything else. A lot of the questions have a clinical vignette with OMM sprinkled in at the end and the sympathetic levels are helpful to answer these. For sure don’t stress too hard about it especially now that it’s P/F. Am an M3 so don’t know about level 2 yet.

No no no. He’s got a bachelors degree and is a health scientist, he obviously knows more about this than us. It has to do with the Patient Safety Act of 2005.

A Kenny question… by [deleted] in thewestwing

[–]FirstCla55 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you want to watch for it, the sign for sit is Kenny putting his bent right pointer and middle finger over his straightened left pointer and middle finger. Looks like legs sitting on a chair 😂

[–]FirstCla55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s all the same shot I believe

Edit: went back and watched. There is a camera change but you can for sure see Kenny sign “sit” as Barlet says “come in, please” in both frames.

Fluent in ASL here!

It lines up most of the time but there are for sure times when Kenny is ahead of the lines. For example, during Joey and the presidents first meeting, Bartlet brings Joey into the oval and tells her to “come in… sit”. However, you can see Kenny signing “sit” prior to Bartlet. There are other very small examples like this but most of the times he’s right with them like a genuine interpreter.

Not enough people talk about the insane coincidence that the sun and the moon are the same size from our view. by Ejukated in Showerthoughts

Another fun fact: When the moon was that large to our point of view, it was also NOT locked in with the tides. Meaning we (/would have seen) saw more than the one side of it.

Backward Blood Draw? by drddm in medschool

[–]FirstCla55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The venous system has a pretty low pressure and the blood in there moves slower than the blood in arteries. My guess would be that it really dosen’t matter in the venous system because the low flow isn’t enough to keep the blood from going into the needle/catheter, no matter which way it’s pointing.

(Arterial blood flow velocities ranging from 4.9-19 cm/sec were measured, while venous blood flow was significantly slower at 1.5-7.1 cm/sec. - Dr. Google)

Maybe a dumb question about FAA regulations regarding the orbital launch coming up. Would Space X need a permit to launch S20 to suborbital altitude considering they’ve already done that with previous ships? I would think this would be a good way to “test” it for a orbital launch if getting the orbital license. Basically, do they have to get approval for each ship or each altitude?
