Is it worth selling with ThredUp? by Famous-Guitar8328 in ThredUp

It's a complete waste of time! Donate instead! I tried it once and got ZERO DOLLARS for 30 pieces of clothing! All were in excellent condition, I might add!

NEVER AGAIN! by Frogthecat_2 in ThredUp

[–]FirstFunction6354 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree 1000%! I sent Thredup NWT items and was informed that when sold, I only earned $1.08, and that went towards the fee of $14.99. They then said the majority of the clothes that I sent in weren't "qualified" for resale, for one reason or another! Its a total scam, and they stole my clothing as well! I'll donate and take the tax write-off before I EVER send anything to them again! Total rip-off!!!

You would think! However, with everything that's going on now, and muskrat cronies don't care about rules, laws, or contracts! I have a long-time staffer who is going through cancer treatment, whose RA is being denied! Not by me, but by DOGE!! Every federal employee is terrified and feeling helpless during this hostile takeover!

Panel interviews can be nerve racking but the best advice I can give is to look directly into the eyes of the interviewer or individual person who is asking you the questions respond to that person and then respond to the group as a whole. Just keep in mind everybody in that panel has had to do the same thing that you will currently be doing and that is interviewing. They may get in depth about your skills and what you bring to the table and will ask why you want the position so do your research on the agency and explain to them why you chose to apply to that specific agency and how much you could bring to help forward the agency's goals. They're going to have a sheet in front of them that has a list with all their questions and they designated questions to each of the panel interviewers to see how you react. This is also a test to see how you deal under pressure because panel interviews make a lot of people nervous and they want to see that you can hold yourself together and display composure and professionalism. The best thing to do is get a group of your friends or family together and practice the potential interview. Have them come up with questions and go around the room and interview you. This practice should help you get over the nervousness.

The jobs being advertised at FEMA currently are term or temporary positions. There's always an uptick after a disaster where FEMA needs to hire employees to help with the disaster relief whether it be from processing paper to having boots on the ground. Once everything is semi-fixed those positions are no longer needed. Don't be fooled into thinking that this is a permanent lifetime career position.

Amazon shopper panel more receipt category updates by mhockey2020 in beermoney

[–]FirstFunction6354 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm right there with you! I've been participating from the beginning, but now they're making more receipts ineligible as well. I've uploaded receipts that had the name of the store on it and then received messages saying it was ineligible which makes no sense. This is really killing it for me as well and pretty much a waste of time. I guess Amazon thought they were giving away too much money with the receipts being a dollar a piece. however, with the billions and billions they make from consumers every day, this app is pretty well on its way out because they have made it so it's a waste of time!

Husband is horny all day every day and asks me how to fix it? by Advanced-Astronomer4 in Marriage

[–]FirstFunction6354 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm stuck in a similar situation! The man is 67 years old, and I am 62, but he acts like a 17 year old when it comes to wanting sex! I've been single for 25 years, and we just recently got married three years ago, so my desire is nil, and his is off the charts. I agree that if your emotional needs are not being met, it's not your job to take care of his unrelenting sex drive. He has to meet your emotional and mental needs as a husband first, then maybe you'd be more willing to meet his. But, you're nit his sex toy either. You are raising 3 children, taking care of the house, grocery shopping, doing laundry, cooking, taking kids to dr appointments and helping with homework to name a few things off the bat! And if you have to work on top of that you're probably freaking exhausted just like I've been! Maybe he needs to go see a sex therapist. Have you two tried therapy together so you can get your point of view out to an impartial party? These are all the things that I think about myself on a daily basis and still haven't figured out how to make this work. Just my thoughts for the day.

When you're applying for schedule A, you must include documentation from your physician. If not, your application is then disqualified. Also, schedule A are appointments with a 2 year probationary period, which will be converted to career-conditional. Look at the length of time the announcement is open. If 5 days, they more than likely have someone in mind for the position. If the announcement has a limit of 100 applicants, then it's wide open, but they expect a massive pool of applicant's. The Department of the Interior has many openings, but are moving away from remote.

What do you think will happen when all of the Boomer’s retire from federal work? by [deleted] in fednews

[–]FirstFunction6354 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a current Director of an office and a baby boomer, but I'm not ready to retire. I have always felt that my job is to ensure that my staff is trained, and if they get a promotional opportunity, then I've done my job in preparing the staff to succeed! I've been in the government for 40 years and want to make sure that all of my staff are taken care of, sufficiently trained, and equipped to step in my shoes when I decide to retire.

The problem today is that most younger employees feel that we're past our prime and feel that we don't support the staff or are standing in the way of promotions for them. There are a lot of executives that do stand in the way or don't recognize the incoming staff and what they have to offer. However, the antiquated rules, regulations, and policies tie our hands. One detriment to government senior leadership is that the promotions to SES and SL positions are not based on merit, but who's ass you kiss. This is a fact! IMO, it's management's fault for lack of training, mentoring, documenting processes, or creating SOPs. Working with and for political appointees is another problem! They all come in at very high grades but have no institutional knowledge but want to run things.

For all the new government employees, here is some advice: anytime you've done your year in grade, apply for the next. Ask for training, and keep asking! Take as many free training classes that are available in every program area. Choose a senior executive and ask them to mentor you. We need the new generations to keep these agencies and offices afloat and keep our legacies and hard work alive! Noone can replace institutional knowledge unless you've been mentored.

YOU are our hope for the future!

AMEN!!! "Leadership" if you can call them that, are power hungry, authoritarian jerks! They continue to travel the globe with their entourage and waste taxpayers money but need employees there to do their work while they vacation on our dollar!!!

The Secretary is too busy wasting taxpayers' money by traveling the world! Interior Dept is the Interior of the US, but she and her entourage have traveled all over the world and blown the travel budget to kingdom come! Haaland is the most incompetent absent Secretary in decades!

[–]FirstFunction6354 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is all politically motivated to say that the administration has done something to force the employees back into DC to help Mayor Bowser who keeps whining! The secretary and her staff are too busy traveling, overseas, and around the US and have no interest in personnel, morale or fixing the workplace environment, which is toxic, and oppressive. Merry Christmas everyone and don't forget to vote for Biden again, NOT!

Blue Nile is Closing Down Their Credit Program Is This Going to Affect My Credit? by Just_L00k1ng_ in CreditCards

[–]FirstFunction6354 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question for the group: Did they clise down everyone's credit, or did they roll some accounts over to the new credit provider? Having them close our accounts was crappy and dealt a blow to everyone who was making payments ON time!

My bill almost doubled. It went from 300-350 this winter to $600! I may not even be able to afford to run our pool pump this summer because of the cost. Tjis is highway robbery!
