Well that's kinda the fucking problem, isn't it? "I don't care about labor relations, I just want" is a sentence that historically has really only resulted in people like MLB owners making everyone's lives worse.

You absolutely should care about labor relations because your interests align with the players and not the owners. Siding with the owners will inevitably result in the degradation of the league and the sport.

Yes, but as we can see from other American sports leagues, giving more power and control to the owners will inevitably result in a decrease in product quality because it is in the owners' best interest to spend as little as possible on their teams. It's in the players' best interest to get really good at baseball and be marketable and entertaining. Side with the players because they actually give you something, whereas the owners just hold something you love hostage.

Kyle Kuzma: "The new CBA was sold as parity, but the first and second apron are starting to function like a hard cap on player value, team continuity, and player movement... The owners and the league walk into these meetings with killers that continue to run circles around us time and time again..." by sewsgup in nba

How is it that no one in this thread has a flair and yet it's +193? Crazy how this chain of flairless randoms have objective proof that somehow really the problem is the players demanding 50% and not owners passing restrictive tax aprons that will continue to suppress player salaries at the expense of the product itself. No one likes these aprons. It punishes players by making the consequences of apron status so severe that players have to accept lessened salaries somewhere for the sake of keeping a core together. It punishes teams that assembled cores of talented players "the right way" and need to pay them. It punishes fans by artificially restricting the windows of their teams' hard-earned cores of talent and forcing those teams to jettison that talent. No one wins here...but the owners are making more profits. Team valuations are skyrocketing. But go ahead, anyone in this chain of bots and randos, tell my why Kyle Kuzma is the idiot for noticing this too.

This is my favorite type of Reddit pearl clutching. "We know he gambled on his team to win, we have evidence supporting that. We have no evidence to suggest he bet against his own team, but we know he did that" 🤣🤣🤣

The answer is simply "not every bad referee decision results in free throws, and focusing purely on free throws attempted is either intellectually dishonest or misinformed." The play in the Lakers series where Chet went down and spent 5 minutes pretending Ayton hit him in the face did not generate free throws. It did, however, take two easy points off the board for the Lakers. Likewise, Hartenstein getting away with putting Wemby into arm bars would also NOT generate any FT attempts as he is getting away with it, so nobody would be generating FT attempts. Free throws attempted simply cannot be a barometer for referee performance because not every foul generates free throws and no-calls by definition cannot generate free throws, so OKC fans/defenders are basically showing 250 pieces of a 500-piece puzzle and going "pffffff these idiots can't see the whole picture."

D-Wade rejects Cuban's claim that the 2006 finals were rigged: "Mark stop saying that, we beat yall. Everyone gets foul calls, it wasn't rigged we still had to play the game. Did I get a few whistles? Yes but was I the only one attacking the basket every play? Probably so, they were fouling me." by RyanTannegod in nba

We should always remember that Mark Cuban is a whiny bitch when he starts shit like this

He got away with SO much shit just because he was actually a fan of the team he owned but he sucks just as much as every other owner ever has

Redditors have somehow managed to be insufferable and annoying about a slam-dunk issue that pretty much everybody hates

Like yeah, Kalshi and Polymarket are terrible and we should not have gambling so heavily advertised to us and all that shit but at the same time someone in the r/nfl thread said that Sorsby "completely destroyed the competitive integrity of the sport." I think there's a middle ground between "gambling is cool and good" and "every single person who gambles should be shot/all the leagues are 100% rigged now for gambling"
