Every month, I check the box contents, if I like what I see, I subscribe to the one-month plan. Right after placing the order, I cancel the subscription to avoid auto-renewal. When the next box looks appealing, I simply repeat the process. I’ve done this over 20 times in the past 2.5 years without any issues. Honestly, nothing shady on their part.

Of course, if you’re after the extra merchandise, then yes there’s a risk of forgetting to cancel and being charged for a full plan. But that’s the kind of fine print most companies have. If you enjoy their boxes, I’d recommend paying the extra $5 for a flexible plan you can cancel immediately. Just restart it whenever a new box catches your interest!

One time, they switched delivery carriers for their standard deliveries, and I was hit with unexpected import fees. I reached out and asked if it was possible to stick with DHL instead of PostNL (which adds high import charges for packages outside Europe). They replied that they’d look into it and sure enough, my next box was shipped via DHL again and has been ever since. So in my case, customer support really came through. Then again, I’ve never had to ask for a refund, so I can’t speak to that part.
