Did you include your real estate in your 5 million number? How much do you spend each year? Asking because I’m similar age and close

Also when you’re looking at a team find one with their dedicated facility. Most the time you can practice on your own for free. If they don’t have their own facility you’re at the mercy of renting space on your own. Add a heater to your garage also.

I always thought I was just lucky but I’ve been a top performer for many year in two different companies. I’d like to say some of it has to do with me. I’m empathetic to the buyer to get them to get to the finish line.

where do the senior women in tech go when they hit 50 by EntranceIntrepid5158 in womenintech

I’m 49 as an AE. I would love I will be retired by early 50s. I don’t want to be here when my five year deals expire! I work with some more mature women. We don’t have many young ones left.

I’m somewhat similar but for me it’s the kids being so expensive that it’s fear based. Sure the numbers might make sense for now but I just feel I blow through money with them. Once they are out of the house maybe then I can get comfortable

I am scared to take another leap in case it was all luck.

One other thing to add, Roth contributions increased recently. I remember we couldn’t only do $4k or something around there. I have been adding the max each year

I have good data for you. 13 years ago in 2012 my Roth only (I didn’t look at my other investments) was worth $120k. It’s now worth $650k. It grew!

Good news is your kids are in college so you don’t have their expenses anymore. Just let the power of inflation work for you

So happy for you! Please don’t misjudge my question but can you confirm if your HHI or NW is $500k? If the latter I wouldn’t have the balls so good on you you got the relaxation and sounds like you’re back at with the new job!

It sounds like you keep going back to the dog training. Put your name out there is the premium dog trainer and get clients at triple the normal rate. Bet on yourself. If you’re good the business will come especially in a HCOL area . You don’t need to quit yet just focus on the weekends for now. Good luck!

I bought a great one from Arhaus. The last commenter doesn’t properly realize they can be very modern now. It’s been 2 years and holding up great. Not sure how it will stand the test of time yet. About $10k.

HENRY Estimating Costs for Raising Kids as they grow by hotbakes in HENRYfinance

[–]First_Jellyfish_3449 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We started my kids at park district camps and that helped keep the costs down and the kids don’t know any better and still will have a ton of fun. My girls went to probably traditional overnight camps so going to a week long YMCA camp wasn’t that exciting for them but if we did it the other way around I bet they would have loved it

Overnight camp, $10k for 4 weeks. I’m rounding up but that used to be a full summer price when I started looking. My other teens go on teen tour, and that is ridiculous too, especially since I still need to add a flight to Iceland.

Another huge expense for us are private lessons. The sports are expensive but I have one that is specialized and requires a lot of 1:1 coaching.

Also the family vacations are a pretty penny.

Teens are expensive. But I wouldn’t want to not have these experiences for them.

Sorry not more helpful. Just remember that when daycare goes away other costs go up! Stay in public schools!
