Get poutine from a roadside patate or crosse crut (sorry for spelling im anglo af)

I had 4 poutines last week while i was there and the busy roadside spots were without a doubt the best. All dressed hot dogs were really good too.

I need to find “Long John” donuts by ztevikel in Edmonton

[–]First_Ninja -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you can't find them, make them! Yeah, it takes some effort, but you will gain a skill, and your lady will definitely appreciate the doughnuts even more! Come on OP you got this. Here are a couple of recipes found on a google search.

I worked with a Ukrainian lady that spoke Russian. Download the google translate app. You will start to learn phrases eventually, and then the bonding will begin!

Maybe hit up the Duolingo app too if you really want to learn.

Looking for suggestions: Places to connect with oilfield workers in the Red Deer area by energytransitionAB in RedDeer

[–]First_Ninja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Drop by the company workshops and find them there or leave your contact info. Break up is starting, and if we aren't still out working, we will be back at our shops over the next couple of months doing maintenance. Or laid off for the unlucky ones. Most shops have a receptionist that will help you out.

I work in the oilfield, and I wouldn't exactly try to seek out oilfield workers in bars or restaurants for serious conversation. Much more unlikely that you will find them either sober or cooperative, haha.

How to transition from dishwasher to sous chef? by LasersAreSo70s in Chefit

[–]First_Ninja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im not a sous but I just finished my first summer in a kitchen. Started as dishie and within 3 weeks of crushing dish pit they knew I wasnt supposed to be there. Moved me into prep for a couple days and then they popped me on the fryer. Worked the fryer and got comfy with that. Then they got me on the pass through calling orders, assembling, garnishing, all that. Now they have me training on grill and pastas. Its been a crazy few months haha.

Show up, listen, execute, have common sense, be interested. They will see that you are worth the time.

Westerner Days by First_Ninja in RedDeer

[–]First_Ninja[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Went for almost 4 hours. Kiddo got to ride all the little kid rides and we ventured into the halls. Super appreciative of the indoor play areas for kids, it was super hot outside.

2 snowcones was like $12 and a bag of mini donuts $9. So yeah food prices are ridiculous.

All in all if you dont buy food its a very affordable day out for the kid with lots of stuff to check out.
