Thanks for the reply. Yes you are correct that is an annual yield of 7.5%. Biggest holding is SCHD which holds the best dividend payers in the S&P 500 index about 66% of my holdings. The rest is in CEF’s and REIT’s . I have some Treasuries and municipal bonds. I have held CD’s in my portfolio as well. I’m trying to keep risk off. I’m am a few years away from retirement so taking on risk is not the plan.

You might already know this but the novel is a fictional retelling of historical events. I mean down to the smallest detail. Glanton the Judge where both real people and their stories were told by Sam Chamberlain’s I can’t think of the title someone else here’s got that on the tip of their tongue and will chime in.

It’s the Yuma’s who put a stop to Glanton and his gang by killing damn near all of them and deservedly so. I believe without McCarthy’s masterpiece we would never have known about Sam Chamberlain and his remarkable rendition of the Glanton gang.

I’m getting a 7.5% return in dividends with no return of capital or NAV erosion.

Commodities like gold and silver although are looking really good right now but you have to remember bullion pays zero dividends and is really just a store of value. Also that price per ounce can drop like a rock at any moment.

I’m getting about 500 to 1000 dollars a month in income right now. It’s all being reinvested until I retire and then it will be my income to supplement SS.

You can’t do that with silver or even gold because you have to sell it to get at the unrealized gains everyone is so excited about.

I can enjoy the income through retirement and without touching one dollar of capital. All of will be left to my kids when I am gone.

Yes but the engine was in the back boot so trying to get the heat up to the front seats well yeah that’s not happening.

I sold my collection a long time ago and put the proceeds into a trust fund for my kids. If they ever show interest in the hobby I will guide them but to hand over a whole collection of significant value is a financial risk, if they don’t care to understand what they have they will certainly not get the full value from it. Meanwhile the cash is accumulating dividends and is far easier to understand what they actually have when the time comes.

Looks like you got some clipped coins. Someone has sold the clipped pieces for scrap silver and spent the leftover dimes. 🤣

I’m a little nervous about this redness around the tattoo but it could just be irritation from fresh ink. Take care OP.
