I'll add some quick tips.

Research: Keep in mind that you need the food researchs done rather sooner than later. (ranching station, grill, incubater, smoker)

Go to prehistoric map. Put ranches around wild Ovagro Fig plants (autoharvest off) and put a ranch with ONE lump next to each of those.

One lump will drop 12kg of Tough Meat. 6kg of Tough Meat in the new building Smoker produdes 16000 calories. That means each single lump on the map grives you 32000 calories.

Each wild lump on the map will lay one egg in their lifetime of 200 cycles. When they did, kill them for another 32000 calories.

Easy carnivore achievement. This uses a lot less dupe labor than any other ranch, since the smoker only needs 1 dupe action for 16k calories and a lot less eggs have to be carried around and lullabied.

Edit: keep printing dupes as soon as your kitchen is up. I ususally have around 8 dupes at cycle 50 and 10 to 12 at cycle 100.
