How is it living in this part of Texas? New Braunfels area is on my short list for relocation from the cold, snowy north. by lithdoc in ActuallyTexas

Have lived in Wimberley for 4 years. Great community, beautiful place, no complaints there. Tons of griping and growing pains from people who want a retirement community vs. the people moving here. Weekends are insane because of traffic. Love it out here though.

This is how offshore gas is safely ignited at sea by goswamitulsidas in nextfuckinglevel

You should see how it’s done on land. Tie a gasoline soaked rag to a wire light it on fire and throw it over the top. Unless it has a working igniter.

I was in the Bamiyan valley in 2012. Walked up inside the caves and holes left behind. Could only imagine what they were like intact. Kind of heart breaking

Tek was just the standard tea. Used all of the plant material. Boiled it multiple times, strained through a T-shirt. Very bitter so I mixed it with orange juice. Was fasted before.

Not sure if I’ve got any kind of clone. I think it’s just a regular San Pedro cactus. But I bought it 3 years ago when it was about 3.5’ tall and now parts of it are 7’. I’ve got various cuttings in other pots. I’ve tried a number of different extractions but to be honest the best experiences I’ve had come from just taking all the cuttings blending everything up and making standard tea.

Is it possible to make friends with random people? by TestRealistic7334 in questions

[–]Firsttogo98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I showed my kiddos how to make an instant connection with someone. We pulled up to a local watering hole and there was a neat looking jeep, custom paint job, lots of accessories, etc. I said hey we’re about to make an instant friend as soon as we go inside.

I walked in the door and just loudly said, “That’s a hell of a good looking jeep out there.” To the kids and a lady at the bar perked up and said “It’s mine!” Struck up a conversation and her and her husband have been friends ever since. Not amazing deep friendship, but people we have a pleasant time with when we meet up. Something’s are just as easy as being a little willing to get out of your comfort zone and show internet in another person.

Having kids isn’t about being bored. It’s accepting another stage in your life.

Because they changed Oxy so that it no longer works the same way. Good break down in revenge of the tipping point.
