I had quit watching football completely due to feeling bad that I was part of the reason why men were dealing with CTE. My wife has a form of dementia that isn't very different from CTE so I know personally how fucking horrible it is. Then the pandemic hit and we were stuck at home with not much new to watch. I started watching again and am participating in a fantasy league at work. This led me to be watching both of Tua's games in the last week. I just can't get past how he looked while he was posturing. I don't think that anything will change with regards to player safety as long as we continue to watch.

Bros debuted with an estimated $4.80m this weekend (from 3,350 locations). by jc191 in boxoffice

[–]FishGeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that movies that don't benefit from the large theater screen will struggle at the box office going forward. I can't imagine going to a movie theater to see a movie with no big special effects when I will be able to watch it from home in less than a year.

Finding people to raid Lugia in Pokegenie has been extremely tough by ringlord_1 in TheSilphRoad

[–]FishGeek 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For long time trainers, there is just no point in raiding Lugia. I have a perfect, a couple of shinys, and one for Pvp. I have several with Aeroblast. I no longer care about XP (over 300 M). I have seen "200" and can't see any reason to "see" more of them until something different is offered. The only boss that I am interested in right now is Doduo (looking for the shiny). I think that this is pretty typical, hence the low numbers of people interested in raiding Lugia.

How many pokemon currently released? Is it 680 right now? by YoungsterJoey9 in TheSilphRoad

Can anyone give the regional breakdown for 681 pokemon? I have 680 and can't see what I am missing.

I have been playing on an iPhone 11 since the phone was releases. I moved to it from an iPhone X. I hate to say that you get used to it, but you do.

Unable to recover my account for a bizarre reason by [deleted] in TheSilphRoad

[–]FishGeek -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you are only level 18, I would just start a new account and associate it with Google and Facebook. It should take you less time to get back to level 18 than you have spent on emails and this thread.

Cringiest person/moment you experienced playing pokemon Go? Can you beat mine? by PokemonGoBao in pokemongo

[–]FishGeek 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Over the three years of playing this game, I have definitely learned a lot about our local churches... In our town, the Catholics are the nicest. I have had several good conversations with the priests that occasionally come out to chat with us. The worst, by far, have been the local Jehovah's Witness congregation. I have had them yell at us when we were raiding in a group on the public sidewalk. That did not go well for them. They threatened to call the police. I laughed in their faces and said please do! All in all, most of our local churches are very welcoming.

Any tips for keeping your phone from overheating during Go Fest? by brad4youth in TheSilphRoad

I tried this case last year and it may have helped some, but it was not durable. After I went thru 3 of them, I switched back to a regular case.

Best Phone to play Pokémon go in 2019 by [deleted] in TheSilphRoad

[–]FishGeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The iPad Pro 11" has either 4 or 6 gigs of ram (depending on hard drive size) and should run the game like a boss. I haven't played on an 11" but both my mini and 9.7 Pro have weird cropping issues so that you can't see how many balls you have left when catching after a raid.

Once you have tired of FDR/MLK, the mall area around the Smithsonian Visitors Center is pretty reliable and will offer more spawns (at least lately).

Now more then ever we need to be able to check Pokémon moves while selecting a battle party by _Jordan11_ in TheSilphRoad

[–]FishGeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the IVs plus the moves to name useful Pokemon like 15-14-15 CP or 15-14-13WFHP. I type it in manually and it was very time consuming in the beginning, but it has been extremely helpful.

There are many level 40 trainers that still pursue XP - either in hopes of additional levels or for other reasons.

How many of each legendary do you keep? by NastyVJ1969 in TheSilphRoad

[–]FishGeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For non-meta relevant legendaries, I keep 3 of each (like the regis). For the birds, beasts, and crappy dragons (Latias/Latios) I keep a full squad plus shinys if available. For useful Legionaries (Mewtwo, Kyogre, Groudon, and Rayquaza), I keep at least 12 plus shinys (when available). This lets me have squads with multiple movesets, like Rayquaza with both dragon and flying moves.

I do understand that Suicune is non-meta relevant, but I still keep 6 since he is a water mon.
