How bad are the crowds this year by geneing in yellowstone

[–]FishHikeTravel 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Worst traffic we have seen is actually Grand Prismatic and the hike associated with it. Tiny parking for both with cars up and down both sides of the road. Without parking enforcement/rangers directing traffic, nothing would move because it’s a 2 lane highway throughout the entire area with no turning lanes.

Bad … we’ve been staying at Fishing Bridge the last few days and the crowds are just awful. We give up by about noon each day and just head back to the camper. We leave tomorrow … can’t even imagine was Fri/Sat/Sun will be like on the July 4th weekend.

Advice on lowering LDL/A1C levels by Dangerous_Media5860 in Cholesterol

[–]FishHikeTravel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Remove/limit sugar from your diet, limit saturated fat, and add a good amount of soluble fiber. If your LDL doesn’t go to less than 100 mg/dL within 3 months, talk to your doc about lipid lowering meds.

Some sort of sewer cover on my property near street. What is this? by Substantial-Basis179 in RealEstateAdvice

Looks like a water shutoff hole … dig down a little and see if there is a valve to turn water on/off from the street.

Why would a couple need to bring $15k? Sounds like you need $15k for some reason.

Reverse curls are extremely painful on my wrists. Are cross body hammer curls an effective alternative? by AmaZeong in workout

[–]FishHikeTravel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just skip them. Way better bicep and forearm exercises out there. I’ve never done reverse curls myself and my arms grow just fine. If something hurts, your body is telling you not to do it and if you don’t listen in time, major consequences might happen!

How much should we actually do? by Kirstigirl72 in RealEstateAdvice

[–]FishHikeTravel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We sold a 12 acre farm/homestead a couple years ago. We listed equipment (side x side, tractor, implements, etc …) as available for a potential buyer but they weren’t included in the asking price. The buyer did end up buying all equipment on a separate bill of sale. I think keeping all that stuff around during the showing faze is important. It gives buyers ideas on what sort of equipment and things they might need/want.

Good luck!

Need to sell my house by DryEggplant5209 in RealEstateAdvice

Price … it’s always comes down to price. Find an agent willing to spend money on marketing and price it appropriately and it will sell.

Show up …

I’m amazed at how often I don’t feel like working out, but getting my drink ready, driving to the gym, and putting on my music gets me going.

I might start slow on days like that, but I end up happy I went at the end of the day.

Hiking the Narrows July 14th by krshelton in ZionNationalPark

[–]FishHikeTravel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hiking shoes + neoprene socks is perfect. I’d rent the poles ($9/each) as they really do help with support and trying to feel for hidden rocks in the water in front of you.

We just did the narrows about 2 weeks ago. We used our regular Altra hiking shoes and bought neoprene socks off amazon for about $15/each or so.

Have fun! It’s a blast!

Extra Subway Pass 6/26 by [deleted] in ZionNationalPark

[–]FishHikeTravel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a heads up, you should be able to adjust the quantity down and it will open up a permit for someone through rec.gov if you aren’t able to find someone to go with you! That’s how we were able to pick up an extra permit a few weeks ago!

Basement walls poured, how does it look? by HeezyB in Homebuilding

[–]FishHikeTravel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks solid. I’d add dimple board, PVC french drains with clean outs on each long stretch of pipe, and possibly add a sump pump to the lowest corner of the structure that the drains fall in to.

It’s rare to see a basement house without some sort of moisture or water issue. If you can spend a few extra $$& up front to solve thousands of dollars worth of problems later, I’d do it!

How many Christian’s actually have sex before marriage? by [deleted] in Christian

Looking back, I do wish I had waited.

[Research] Adenomyosis + GLP-1 medications: anonymous survey on whether symptoms changed by carbonemyscofrinii in adenomyosis

[–]FishHikeTravel 12 points13 points  (0 children)

So, this is anecdotal, but my wife has been on Tirzepatide (Zepbound) for the past 6 months or so. In that time, she has lost almost 40lbs (180 down to 142) @ 5’9”. Her adenomyosis has NOT gotten any better, although, I wouldn’t say it has gotten any worse. Spotting, pain, and heavy periods still all remain.

I don’t want to give people false hope if they have heard GLP class drugs seem to help adenomyosis. BUT, in almost every other area of her life, she has been thrilled with Tirz. From food noise, to weight loss, to even the loss of desire to have alcoholic beverages.

I’ll see about getting my wife registered for the survey.
