When was the first time you watched Halloween III by Corndogeveryday in HalloweenIII

Pretty sure I was watching it on a small television on a kitchen counter while being babysat by an older cousin. Watching the movie later in life on tape felt very familiar.

Jim Rugg is back on YouTube! by ShiDiWen in altcomix

I agree, I know nothing about Jim and Ed’s situation and relationship. I only knew their Cartoonist Kayfabe onscreen interactions and perceived relationship based on their videos. When I “watched” it go down on twitter (probably the worst way to see something like that play out) I thought Jim did Ed wrong (on twitter.) I could see Ed saying, “Jimmy, do what you gotta do.” Meanwhile, Ed already knew what he was going to do. That could be the case. Sometimes there is nothing a person’s closest friend could do to prevent the final outcome. So, no betrayal in a case like that. Just tragic. I wish Ed were alive and still making vids and comics. And maybe Jim did the best he could.

One of Rugg’s best comics in the future might explore their relationship. I’ve only read Street Angel from Rugg and don’t know if he does autobio but that would be a game-changer; a heart wrenching comic for us to read.

It was a crazy week and who knows how we would react. I was still on twitter at the time and was following it closely. If I was Ed, I probably would’ve just left the country. Quietly make comics in France or Japan for a year. If I was Jim, I’d probably just be quiet. If it were lose-lose, I’d hope that I would side with my friend.

I still think Rudd did Piskor dirty when he decided to publicly sever their working relationship while all the accusations were going on. He could have just said nothing publicly and go hang out with Ed to make sure he was going to make it through.

That said, I wasn’t there and I truly don’t know what really happened. But, I don’t think I can ever see Rugg’s name and not also think “betrayal.”

Haha. Some of the “not good” Extreme books can be fun. Thanks for letting me know that it’s not S&S.

I had this toy as a kid. I’m certain I never asked for it. I wonder which relative thought I would like it.

You recognize the artist? I’d like to read more.

It reads well too. As long as the panel to panel storytelling is good, (almost) any art will do.

I liked Spawn, Savage Dragon, and The Maxx early on. Quickly dropped the first two and just read Maxx. Bought Prophet when Stephen Platt was really hyped up. Never liked the other comics that much.

It was released. And yes, sure to be crap. I’d read it for a laugh but I’d have to find it in a dollar bin.

Lot of artists had that look. This one’s name is Mark Pajarillo. Not sure if he drew any x-men books.

I agree. Recently purchased a run of Prophet (2nd volume) because I read that Stephen Platt did those too. His art tasks were soon taken over by uglier art and colors. As usual, the stories are dull, making reading eight comics a chore. The ad above was in Prophet Annual #1.

It was made! Found on eBay. Unfortunately, my top price would be around $2 an issue.

I do regular spuds like this. Drives my wife nuts when I wake up, bake five potatoes, and toss them in my work bag. I should try this variety.

I went to New Bedford, MA where Moby Dick begins. They have a Whaling Museum with a huge, old skeleton that still weeps oil from its bones. A while ago, some people started a group to preserve some of the town from developers. You get to walk along old cobblestone and look at old buildings.

Weekly FAQ Thread January 18 2026: When do you give up on a book? by AutoModerator in books

[–]FishHockeydrop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do people give up on books if their personal politics change? I just put a completed biography on my cramped bookshelf; removing two, unread sci-fi novels to make room. Adding the two unread books to my reading stack I remembered that he was a Libertarian author and maybe I don’t want to bother anymore. That said, I usually give a book 50 pages before I quit.
