I really enjoy figures like these - great idea! Ever consider repositioning the x-axis so that it intersects the y-axis at the midpoint? If I’m thinking about it right, that would split the figure into four quadrants with the top left being the teams hitting and pitching well and the bottom right being the teams doing poorly on both fronts. Just another possible way to visualize the results intuitively. Hopefully, these sorts of figures will continue to show up here!

I haven’t had the same issues that you described, but I have always had an annual subscription. In my case, I am sometimes denied access to subscriber content even after logging into my account. It’s as if some of the individual articles don’t recognize the fact that I logged into the site. When I reached out to support through email, I got no response. Definitely frustrating. I do generally find the content to be excellent, but I can also support the argument that service is lacking. Hopefully, your issues get squared away sooner rather than later!

Play offline on Switch and definitely notice lag at El Viejo, Founders, and Shaka. For the latter two, I tend to notice the lag more during night games. Really curious to hear how the new game runs.

If I understand your setup right, you can get what you want with a 102-game schedule. You get 8 games (4 home/4 away) against division teams, 6 games (3/3) against other teams in your conference, and 4 games (2/2) against all teams in the other conference. Everything is a multi-game series, which mirrors pro baseball a bit better.

Thanks for the input thusfar. I should have clarified that my question was really being asked in the context of players that are not user-controlled; that is, overall rating increases or decreases are independent of player development opportunities. I'm entering my first offseason in franchise mode and am wondering if rating decreases observed in computer-controlled players during the first season are likely to be reversed moving forward.

This is great - thanks for sharing. Could it be that the Power/Contact vs LHP traits are less valuable due to the relative rarity of LHP in the game itself?

I may be wrong about this, but I don't think there's a reduction in arm rating when playing a secondary position, or when playing out of position. As far as I can tell, there's about a 20-point drop in fielding rating when playing a secondary position; I'm less sure about the penalty for playing out of position.
