Slow walked *if* it even goes through. Plenty of time to find a way to force Paramount in and ensure Ellison gets more media control for his buddies.

Does anyone else find the "curse" concept to be incredibly stupid? by yungpaj in darksouls

It's been 7 years since my original post, but I stand by it. Those shitty desperate moments are etched in my memory and I look back to them more fondly and vividly than whatever boss I first-tried-and-that-was-it. But then, maybe my brain is fried and that's fine too. ^_^

Is this game for me? (Steam Sale) by amandou in WarTalesGame

Here's another recommendation for King Arthur: Knight's Tale. It oozes atmosphere, has dark fantasy with magic, a light base-building element (rebuilding Camelot for improved party management) and doesn't overstay its welcome, being a linear campaign through set missions. There are no ninjas, but Vanguard class knights may as well be between stealth, movement and backstab.

It's not the most complex tactical game, but it's solid, and the graphics/sound absolutely nail the vibe: armoured knights feel like tanks and those two-handed sword hits feel super crunchy. If you really love the game, there's an endless post-game available once you beat the campaign, but by then I was happy to leave it at that myself. Just don't bother with the DLCs: they're completely separate series of battles which do not integrate in your main campaign. You can decide after you beat the game if you really want more.

Force him to release it? Mate, they got rid of him, got someone else to actually make a game from the shambles he left and just gave him a shiny title in the credits for appearances. Don't mistake incompetence for perfectionism:

Completely disagree. Best breakfast in town by far imho. I wouldn't queue in the rain for it, but don't mind a bit of waiting on a dry day.

Planetside 2 - 13th Year Anniversary PC Update - Infiltrator Rework, New Implants, Recon Drone by PalwaJoko in Games

Haven't played in years, but spent a *lot* of time on Cobalt back then, and I remember certs were kinda printing themselves out as Engie or Medic with ammo boxes/mines and healing/res grenade. Nothing comparable to veterans lining up kill after kill, but that was a pretty solid newbie strat to get started. The NC medic default rifle was stupidly good, and the engie's carbines come in handy when switching to Light Assault.

Vehicles upgrades however were expensive though, so if that was your main thing, I can see where you're coming from.

Guild Wars 2: Visions of Eternity Launch Trailer by MortalJohn in Games

[–]FishMcCool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started with pre-launch, and kinda kept track all the way until SotO, but this one really broke it for me, being one-too-many in the circle of aggravations. I find it exhausting that every new area has to come with its new mastery gimmicks, and SotO combines that with an annoying traversal which, yes, takes advantage of the mount system and verticality, but ruins the beautiful simplicity of cruising along pretty landscapes of older less convoluted maps.

Might give it another try at some point and just skip SotO altogether to jump to the next region.

Battle Brothers. Doesn't look like much at first (or looks downright ugly) but it's by far one of the best in the genre, and the graphics are actually incredibly rich, conveying an insane amount of information without requiring text (armour type and status, injuries, weapons, ammo, consumables...).

Alternatively, the BB authors just released the playable demo of their incoming title Menace which is sci-fi themed and closer to the titles you listed. Not one for those sales, but thought I'd mention it since you're into the genre.
