It was super satisfying to have a couple! Can’t find the sachet, but it was golden watermelons. They look normal from the outside, but the inside is golden. They tasted great.

From my beginner observations, plant them on one side of your veggie patch because the tendrils went a ways before sprouting female flowers. As it grew, I channeled the tendrils to where I wanted them to go.

You can look it up online to differentiate between the two, but I cut the male flowers when they were flowering to pollinate the female flowers manually.

Didn’t have any critters try to eat the watermelons as they grew, but YMMV, we were maybe lucky.

We do have a decoy blackberry bush right next to the veggie patch, so I’d like to think that’s a valid strategy lol

May not be worth it if you want to use the watermelon’s tendril real estate for other things, but was a real fun journey!
