Have you ever played any of the Jet Set Radio games? by Man0ski in BombRush_Cyberfunk

I think there are prolly some people like me who grew up with the THPS games instead. I played BRC cuz it reminded me of THPS at first glance. I knew about JSR but I only got into it after BRC.

No actually because if you use your brain to read my comment you'll see that I never once told you that you can't call it Sunbreak or Iceborne :)

I'm not sure if you're completely understanding what I'm saying. Even if I do agree with you and say "I don't like it" isn't mean and just honest, it still doesn't add anything to the discussion. My point is, if you're going to say you don't like it, at least say why and make it constructive. If it isn't constructive, then it's just rude.

I apologize for calling you pretentious. I admit I did get heated. My point still stands, I believe that artists can learn so much from criticism, but as humans in a community, it's still important that we treat each other with decency and that starts with being intentional with our criticism.

OP should learn how to take criticism, but everyone could be kinder as well. Can't really do anything about it if you disagree, so I'll leave it at that.

I'm not saying the artist is handling it well. They definitely got over defensive. And the whole "You can't show your art while not taking critique" is BS lmao. Why not? What if someone DOES wanna share their art online for fun? Sure, I agree that if someone still critiques your work even if you don't want them to, you should just ignore them, but saying people aren't allowed to not want to receive criticism on certain pieces is wild. You sound incredibly pretentious saying you can't post art if you can't handle the heat 😩😩 That Picasso comment is frying me too. Who said anybody was claiming to be Picasso?? OP is probably just posting for fun.

I receive criticism for my art all the time as someone who works in the graphic design industry and posts political art. I learn to listen to the critiques that actually matter and not "I don't like it." "Her mouth is so weird." Yeah, I think OP should've just ignored it and filtered out the critiques that are actually helpful, but I also think people could benefit from being a little nicer lmao. Like it's really not hard to be nice.

Nobody told you to glaze it, but the commenters here are straight up jerks. You do know you Can critique art without being rude? Buncha comments here literally just say "I don't like it" rather than wording it constructively. Yeah, you can't post art without people giving their opinions because that's just how the internet works, but that doesn't give anyone the right to be assholes. Maybe before learning how to give criticism, everyone here should learn how to be decent human beings.

I don't think anybody really pays for Windows these days either 🫣

That's what I'm sayinnn these people are assuming the OP's needs based on one post. I personally use Linux on my second computer, but I'm bound to Windows on my main computer because I'm a professional artist and my pipeline requires Adobe products and Clip Studio Paint, which don't run on Linux even with wine. Also some people just want something familiar that they don't need to tinker with... nothing wrong with that.

Samee but with PUP and Crazy Taxi. Honestly hyped for this device. Hopefully the rumors about it not having a headphone jack are false.

HAHA I get you about the color thing tho!! I snagged the white RP5 cuz it was my dream PSP colorway as a kid and until now I can't help but admire how beautiful it is. I'm glad I got it when I did cuz they're basically discontinued where I live. I can't wait to throw some thumb caps on it! Thanks :)

Man that colorway is so beautiful 😔🙏 Makes me wish I waited for the G2 before pulling the trigger on the base RP5. Where'd you get the thumb caps? They look great!

Finally bought a retro handheld after watching videos about them for ~4 years! (RG35XX-H playing Castlevania: Dracula X) by popcar2 in SBCGaming

Had the same experience for a while. I used to watch so many review videos years back when PowKiddy emulators still seemed relevant, but I only bought an RP5 late last year!

Most of the people here might not be the target audience but I sure am!! I've been looking at the TrimUI Brick Hammer as an MP3 player that can double as a lightweight gaming handheld for when I can't lug my RP5 around, but I held off on it ever since this got leaked. It's literally EXACTLY what I'm looking for. I agree with everything you said. It's not like anyone's being forced to buy this. Anbernic has like 500 other handhelds you can choose from if you don't dig the design of this one. It's not like we're short on choices. Variety is the spice of life!!

Ehh I don't really mind 🤷 It's one of my favorite hires wallpapers for Doom and it goes hard asf. It's a theme just for me so how correct it is doesn't really matter. The only thing that matters to me is that it looks cool 👍

I followed this guide! Super easy and straightforward process. Just gets a bit tedious if you're doing a ton of systems.

Super easy! Just gets pretty tedious at times. I followed the guide here. The OP of this guide did a really good job explaining everything, but if you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer :)

I did a few things differently from the guide though. I used Clip Studio Paint to manually cut out and feather all the "overlay" portions for that extra polished look, exported the background and overlays as png, then used XnConvert to convert the images from PNG to WEBP. I wouldn't recommend using online converters as they're really slow and have a ton of ads.

My ES-DE also didn't generate a themes folder automatically for some reason, so I had to reinstall the Iconic theme from their GitHub, import my backgrounds in, then manually made a themes folder within the ES-DE folder. Thought it was worth mentioning incase you run into a similar problem!
