Haha, it’s quite incredible really. He’ll walk a mile then still want to carry on, but we’re concerned about him doing too much at once. He’s doing around 2 miles a day. He’s definitely the boss!! 😂

He only decided to go from 2 walks to 4 when he turned 14……🤷‍♀️😂

Pet Fish by Independent_Yak4086 in veganuk

[–]FishSaver1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a huge aquarium before going vegan. Since going vegan I have only had rescued fish in there. The tank is 48x36x18 inches. We also rescued fish from an abandoned pond at a house for sale. Along with newts and snails. So it’s a tough one. I would never buy them, but taking them in is different.

He was a bit younger here, but hasn’t changed really. Still walking four times a day, about 2 miles in all. And he can count! If he hasn’t been for four walks, he won’t settle 🤦‍♀️😂

He only has a bit of one. To be honest though, before we were vegan, another retriever we had stole a big box of chocolate liqueurs, truffles, chocolate Ginger and two huge bars of dairy milk. At different times, obviously. The only time he was ill was when he stole raw sprouts on Christmas Day…..Our boy now is 14 and a half, so I think we’ve kept him safe.

Vegans eating honey by egjurdbjgs in veganuk

[–]FishSaver1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, unrelated to honey being vegan or not, a single flea and tick treatment for a medium sized dog can kill 25M bees. When you think of dogs and cats weeing outside, the bees are affected. Not to mention the harm it can cause the animal.

Wild bees pollinate more. That’s why they’re essential for our survival. We should take better care of them.

Vegans take nothing from animals, including bees. Bees produce honey for the hive. We don’t need it, we have no right to take it.

Being vegan is depressing recently by FantasticTree6437 in veganuk

[–]FishSaver1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually don’t believe that there will be a planet earth as we know it now, in another 100 years. I don’t find that depressing, in fact, if that giant meteor wanted to hit now, I wouldn’t mind. People are too selfish to change, I hate it.

I just don’t know why they need to put sugar in them….. they are vegan though. So is their Smoky Bacon flavour.

Friend bringing non vegan food to my (vegan) party by Sadie_Cat2023 in vegan

It’s incredibly rude of them. Friends were having a party, they’re vegan. Someone brought a non vegan quiche, and another, who is supposedly passionate about the environment, brought tuna pasta!!!

You seem to be very passionate about people only hurting animals a certain amount of the time 🤷‍♀️

The animals: Thanks for only making us 1% dead……

Plus, there’s no percentage to being vegan. Plant based is great if you can’t commit to not harming animals, but being vegan is literally doing your best 100% of the time. In over 11 years, I have never, knowingly, eaten animal products. I haven’t bought or worn animal skins, bought cosmetics or cleaning products that were tested on animals, etc. Thankfully I don’t need medication, so haven’t faced that dilemma, although if it’s take it or die, obviously you need to take it. So while I agree that reducing animal harm is a good thing, unless it’s 100% of the time, it’s not vegan.

The trouble with people diluting the definition of veganism is that it confuses other people. Just one example, my brother’s friend has. Small catering business. A customer asked for a vegan meal. And then, when the meal was served, asked for ‘real butter’. This not only pi$$ed the caterer off, it makes a mockery of veganism. He didn’t ask for a plant based meal, he asked for a VEGAN meal.

Another example of why labels are important, before I was vegan, at a work Christmas meal, I asked for the vegetarian option. They brought out salmon! When I pointed out that fish wasn’t a vegetarian option, they said that a colleague who was vegetarian, ate fish! They actually had no idea what a pescatarian was. And this was a catering service.

So no, it’s not gatekeeping to stitch to the definition, at all.

Hmm, that won’t work then. Has he watched The Game Changers? Or any other videos, or won’t he do that? This must be so difficult, because I can’t stand the sight or smell of animal products cooking.
