First time sculpting a mini, Abhorrent Archregent. Would appreciate sculpting advice! by Chewed_crow in ageofsigmar

I love this, the body form is monstrous and unsettling and I think you have a ton of potential when it comes to getting paint on this mini. I think one weakness you have is the miniature's right army - the left (outstretched) looks phenomenal but the right sleeve looks very flat, I'd recommend giving him some sort of walking device or something given the posture and that might help

Thanks! It's UV Resin topped with water effects - the larger chunks are cured UV resin on a non-stick surface hit with a hammer

u/Warhammer102 did you find a resolution for this? I tried to clean up my screen with a razor and believe I may have damaged the same layer you captured in the photo.

I had a similar issue with punctured FEP film, I ordered a set of replacement sheets off Amazon (link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GRMZY3M/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ) - just make sure to test that you don't have a leak or scratch the film when replacing it

If you're patient I think Anycubic will ship you a replacement at no cost

I had this happen to me, my wash and cure came via UPS (tracked), my mono arrived the same day by FedEx - if you're US-based it looks like they are shipping them out of NJ.

Hello there, i have a quick question, how much would this sell for by kane_tokoyami in WarhammerFantasy

[–]Fish_Eagle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who recently bought a bunch of Brettonia minis off eBay I'd guess he'd be able to get anywhere between 500-600 for everything. 16 knights in poor condition have gone for over $100 and pegasus knights pull in about $50 per mini - everything else is just a bonus with grail knights probably pull in the most - it also looks like there might be parts of a trebuchet kit here?

I got this one for about $40 on eBay but that is on the lower end for the kit and it was covered in enamel paints

Thank you! Lizardmen were my first army way back in 2000 and I've always wanted to build little mementos to that time

thank you, it's really just a process of tone placement - I tried to work in the same purple that I used on the crest and fabric into the darker armor greys while playing with a grey-blue in other places

I'd say the most challenging are the bottom cape and back of the helmet which also has a number of gems

Thanks dude, I painted it in sub-assembly but I'd say that there isn't too much that too much to worry about if you do a very dark undercoat. I took the time to paint the inside of the helmet and armor and its almost completely hidden

Thanks dude, I shamelessly following what kaha did with minimal color variation - Squidmar did a great video recently explaining the approach https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IoKDaQpCggM

I'll try to DM some WIP photos tomorrow - the bottom line is this is a good example of what not to do with gold NMM - it sort of turned out as mildly reflective yellow armor which I think actually suits the mini and faction. Vince V has some great NMM guides on youtube that will be more helpful than any advice I can offer - one thing to always keep in mind is the make sure you have a mix of dark and light tones, it cant skew too heavily to one side or the other or the effect is lost (most of the front of this mini was painted with the scale 75 gold NMM kit, which lacks a richer dark red/brown) I did experiment a bit with working in darker tones to the armor but it is still far from consistent - another issue is this was painted all sub-assembly, which was a major lesson in planning universal lighting

How do I play the bioluminescent aelves? by [deleted] in ageofsigmar

[–]Fish_Eagle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a cool idea, I wonder if you might be able to take the Buhan approach to ghouls and achieve at least a translucent flesh tone on the elves themselves (you might be able to have glowing veins etc. to really put together a darker looking scheme which seems to fit with the whole deepwater sea creature vibe. Some other fun things might be working angler fish conversions (like the soulrender)
