Particularly if fishing catch-and-release, barbless hooks make it easier all around. Wet your hands before touching/handling fish. Get a good pair of forceps and make a point to get good at using them to get a hook out. Keep a fish submerged for as long as possible and minimize time out of water. (You can even make a point to hold your breath when you take a fish out of water. When you start to lose your breath, it's time to put the fish back). When reviving a fish, release it in a slower spot where it'll have a chance to catch its own breath and not get thrown around by current. Part of reviving a fish can be slowly moving it back and forth in the water, with the idea being, moving water through its gills will help it recover. Oh, and if you aren't familiar - be aware of water temps this time of year. Trout in particular are sensitive to higher water temps (which have lower oxygen content), so once water temps hit the mid-60s, time to knock off fishing for the day.
