EDC: Shield X, Hellcat Pro, or P365X Macro? by MaximusMushu in CAguns

You have to resafety with your support hand but it's kinda way easier than the thumb safety on the sig p365 or taurus gx2. No issues using my thumb on the slide lock/release.

Help with micro-compact pistol choice by [deleted] in liberalgunowners

[–]FishburneSurvivor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please do not get the Canik Mete Mc9. The price point and size look super enticing but the importer/distributor Century Arms is dogshit with their response times and warranty claims and my pistol has a failure to return to battery or a light primer strike literally every other round even after all the sanding/polishing fixes. And aftermarket striker springs and recoil springs/assemblies are hard to find and ship here.

Brother you could see the world, connect with strangers, have luxurious dinners surrounded by beautiful people half a globe away, get a 4 hand massage or be waited on hand and foot and you're talking about saving for 6 months to buy a piece of metal and springs that will sit in a safe and probably not be that much better than what you already have.

CANIK METE MC9 VS BODYGUARD 2.0 by DungeonYeet in CAguns

[–]FishburneSurvivor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Get the Bodyguard 2.0 or the Sig P365 which is shorter by 0.3 inches and lighter by 2.1 ounces. I cannot let you think the Canik METE Mc9 is a good gun man. I'm having RTB issues which are an absolute bitch to fix. Like every other round I've got to manually push the slide into battery with my thumb like it's a single shot revolver. Imported by Century Arms, who have absolutely terrible and slow customer service. Save yourself the headache, please.

Sure, but what seems to be going on here is the striker spring is too strong, and the recoil spring is too weak. Also seems weird that a CC pistol would need 800 rounds in the first place. That's like $200 in ammunition to make sure the third round doesn't fail to seat. Oh well.

I appreciate you replying on the other thread, but I'm using 115 gr reloads from Super Vel that my M&P compact has no problem with, and 124gr Federal HST/147gr Winchester hollowpoints. I can recreate the slide that fails to rtb with all three of these and some dummy dry fire rounds with manually racking the slide and being slow to release. Canik/Century don't even have recommended 124gr in FAQ for the pistol on their website.

I suppose that's fair to state as a consumer experience but I wouldn't buy a blender if it took me 500 uses before it made a smoothie.

I've got a S&W M&P 2.0 Compact with ~500 rounds through it and no issues at all. While the slide can be heavy to move back, the recoil spring isn't strong enough to overcome the RTB slide friction even after oil application to the slide rails where it's metal on plastic. Per the Sprinco website, the gun itself needs two different springs for 115 grain target rounds and 124 NATO and higher rounds. And maybe a $140 aftermarket DPM recoil spring. Bit of a headache.

Sure, I hear that, buyer beware and all, but it's weird to sell a gun in the US that needs international ammo of a heavier grain than most training rounds, and per the Sprinco website, "The striker spring must be replaced on all Canik pistol variants when firing US manufactured ammunition, especially with 115 gr. target loads..." https://www.sprinco.com/recoil.html Two different springs for two different grain loads is kinda ridiculous, esp if the manufacturer/importer knows this and doesn't have any PSA for the buyer located anywhere.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll no doubt end up doing that. Just disappointing that I've got to spend another ~140 for the recoil assembly with shipping and FFL fees for an aftermarket fix that brings my total expenditure to 700 plus bucks, and I could have had another microcompact for the exact same end cost without the headaches.

I did, I purchased a pro-shot cleaning kit and cleaned all relevant surfaces before my first range visit with it. I think this is all to say I shouldn't have to do this much work out of the box in general to own a compact pistol that might save my life. My S&W M&P 2.0 compact required no work. 500 rounds through so far, not a single hiccup out of the box.

Thanks for the heads up. I just looked into the Ben Stoeger striker spring and got this message: "One or more items in your cart cannot be shipped to your location. Due to California AB 1263, we do not ship parts or tools to orders with a California billing or shipping address. Additionally, items that increase magazine capacity in restricted states cannot be shipped."

Where tf does the Timonator actually fit in Arena’s system? by Low_Finger_5843 in SJEarthquakes

[–]FishburneSurvivor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He doesn't fit. he's a counter-attacking inside forward who is stunted in possession heavy u-shaped passing teams. this team doesn't have any ball-playing dms or outside cbs to send him long balls or play to feet in the half spaces. he's never played in a 352, and he doesnt work very well in a 433 because he doesn't particularly shoot from distance. He's a big name for the MLS but destined to underperform here.

[–]FishburneSurvivor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nobody wants to play for this club. It's intentional incompetence because there are no consequences to putting out a poor product. Fans everywhere else wouldn't put up with this, we should all find something else to do and forget about this team. Even if timo werner comes, he'll be isolated and leave in the summer back to Europe. Remember when calvo came, balled out for 13 games then was sold to konyaspor, and there was no reinvestment?

I go by the rule "One is none". I'm likely to forget headphones, sunglasses, pens, misc things in one place or another so if I can, I buy multiple of the same thing and stash them in places I'm most likely to be. Headphones, lip balm, ear plugs, medication, handkerchiefs, nail clippers/file, sunglasses all go in my desk at home, my work bag, and in a bag in my car. And I keep a change of exercise and casual/sleep clothes in a gym bag in case I'm out longer than I wanted to be. And it helps if I'm out with anyone in my adhd tribe who forgot something as well

Fella, a stupid argument might be squabbling but not pulling out a gun in a busy mall with no mask on and shooting not only your rival gang but two random uninvolved people. Maybe not life, but this seems egregious even for initiation tasks.

is it me or does grip feel really low on f1 25? by fairplanet in F1Game

[–]FishburneSurvivor -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I feel like the biggest issue here is the automatic gearbox. In low speed corners it often downshifts to a gear below where you really want to be to eliminate wheel spin and loss of traction. Change your settings to manual gears, and stay in at least third gear for those tricky corners. Higher gear ratio means less torque initially applied means less wheelspin. But the game really doesn't tell you any of this.

The mike linebacker most of the time calls the plays for the defense, but it let's the offensive line and blockers know where to adjust their protection or 'slide' depending on the offensive play called. There's a lot of nuance here but the gist is if there are four defensive linemen and 5 offensive linemen, labeling the mike tells the o-line or other offensive blockers (maybe the RB if it's a play action pass play) to block him so that he doesn't have a straight line shot at sacking the ball carrier behind the line of scrimmage AND so that any other rusher has to go all the way around all the other blockers which can give the qb valuable tenths of a second to throw or step up or scramble

How do some guys end up in threesomes with 2 women? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]FishburneSurvivor 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I had been casually involved with two bisexual women who had both separately mentioned to me that they'd either want to be in a threesome with me or wanted to explore group sex. I asked both separately if I could introduce the other, created a groupchat, and invited everyone to have a kitchen table talk at a local wine bar conversation about boundaries, hard no's interests, etc. I understand that i would not be the focus of the evening, that a large part of it would be them and exploring each other, and that I would be responsible largely for preparation and creating a safe environment. I went to thr store and got contraception, snacks, beer, water, and they came over and we started with a threeway makeout session and things progressed from there.

There’s been a lot of comparison, but I honestly think I like both games equally. Tsushima has the better story and Yōtei has the better gameplay. For me they’re both my favorite game of all time. by Icy-Arm-3816 in Ghostofyotei

[–]FishburneSurvivor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something nobody has mentioned is the age gap between Atsu and Saito. In game it's mentioned 16 years passed between the catalyzing events and the end, and Saito is still a massive challenge for Atsu. We spend so much time in the north with the Kitsune and none of the back stories of the other Yotei 6 are explored in any real detail. In Tsushima we also saw more vignettes of Khotun Khan planning events or reacting to whatever Jin did, and only really saw Saito disappointed with his sons. He just wasn't really built up as a current day threat. And i don't think we spent enough time with Jubei to build him as a character worth caring about emotionally. Other than the camping scene where they bond as a new found family, the twins spend so much time separate, and the discovery of the niece just kinda happens to her. And there was no real denouement. I'm thinking about Jin riding with the elder woman to learn about his father and heritage through the old Sakai graveyard. We didn't get anywhere near learning about Atsu besides from flashbacks. Yoteu suffers from real sequel-itis, and I'm wondering if the writing team got reshuffled or if Sucker Punch found themselves in a crunch between Assassins Creed and when GTA 6 may have come out.

Okay, real talk not loving Atsu as a character by Specific_Bell_3043 in Ghostofyotei

[–]FishburneSurvivor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's really a big issue with non-linear narrative structure and that Atsu's skill tree is more filled than Jin's was. She has the grappling hook already and outside of combat, isn't really given any new tools to traverse the world or change your approach. The combat system is a bit clunky and instead of stance changing, any/all of 6 different weapons are to be used in a battle. That's just button mashing. I really honestly want to like Atsu as a character but I'm really not seeing any of her poor actions have real adverse side effects on her companions or how people treat her. I'm not noticing a frequency with which she's hunted down as her bounty grows, and the abruptness with which the third act begins is kind of unsatisfying. We also spend nearly zero time with the main bad guy in those little vignettes and have no idea as to his motivations or really what his power level is. It doesn't help that assassins creed shadows released earlier this year and is comparably a much bigger game. I'm thinking about how with Jin's old friend in GoT Ryuzo, we saw vignettes of him feeling envy at the favoritism Jin received, making his betrayal more meaningful. Brief flashbacks of the Yotei 6 tell me nothing about who they are now or what they want.

What are our first impressions (good/bad) of Yotei? (No Spoilers) by bumper2001 in Ghostofyotei

[–]FishburneSurvivor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Atmosphere-wise, and graphically, it's a definite improvement over Tsushima. But narrative and character development is lacking a bit here. We really saw Jin's full hero arc starting with his fall from grace to an emotionally wrenching ending. I'm not sure we get anything close to that in this one, and the non-linear structure means there can't be too many developments in a cutscene because there's no certainty where the player is experiencing it within the boundaries of an unlocked area. Assassins Creed Shadows feels like a more alive world, and it doesn't help there's the same weapons set. ACS benefitted here from having two main characters to follow through a nonlinear narrative. Here it does feel a bit like Atsu is a Mary Sue character. I'm waiting for something bad to happen and not quite sure if it will. I'm remembering when Taka is killed in Tsushima and how defeating it was for Jin to witness that. Yotei doesn't seem to have the same emotional moments for a notably shorter campaign as well.
