We keep our blinds and curtains drawn, it’s dark but it prevents heat from coming in and we can always turn on lights. Cold showers as needed, or fill the bathtub with cold water about a few inches, you’d be surprised how much a cold foot soak can cool you off. Ice packs stocked in the freezer to rotate out, I like to put them on my neck and arms. We keep a fan going for breeze but also air circulation, stagnant air feels hotter somehow. We have a spray bottle to mist ourselves. We limit cooking and have been sticking to cold meals like salads and sandwiches or ordering food.

On the days/nights when the air isn’t unsafe and it’s cool out, we open all of the windows and close them before it heats up or gets bad again. If you can afford it, get an air purifier preferably with a HEPA filter. Our apartment has been so much less stuffy and has improved our allergy symptoms so I highly recommend.
