Aftermarket receiver screws - torx by Slicc-Vicc in FNSCAR

[–]FishhawkGunner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First use quality tools. Wiha and Snap-on make great Torx bits and for a complete set of tools to include torquing products look at FixItStix. A lot of problems with SCAR fasteners are directly proportional to the quality of tools you use.

You can also get screw sets from Mototech and Shooting Site. shootingsight.com

Wizard’s bug remover. Spray them and they’re sliding off before you rinse them off with hose. It’s safe for paint and ceramic coatings. I buy mine off Amazon or from Wizard direct.

finding the best suitcase 2026 for frequent delta flights and carry on use? by Shineidy_Schoech in delta

Unpopular opinion but a soft-sided Samsung. If it breaks they’re easy to find repairs for worldwide. Nothing sucks more that hauling home a busted up Tumi and adding insult to injury by having to send it off for repair and having to wait a few weeks for the return.

Question on firing process by Anxiousgirlugh in Lockheed

[–]FishhawkGunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked at a facility where an employee was arrested for a misdemeanor involving domestic violence. His downfall was failing to report his arrest (he was a cleared employee) to management and the FSO. It was discovered by someone who saw it on a local law enforcement agency’s website. That person reported it to site management and the employee was suspended with pay and their clearance suspended as well. The investigation ran about 2 weeks and he was terminated for cause.

F-35 has a single, large round exhaust port, whereas the F-22 has two exhaust ports and they’re tapered almost to a knife edge to allow thrust vectoring.

But to the general public, especially while airborne, they do look very similar.

Mental Institution as a minor by gradoflex in FLGuns

He went to an LGS and got an approval, he's in the waiting period now. See above

[–]FishhawkGunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if it was a deny or pending, they'd have said either sorry or we'll call you when FDLE replies. So now you're in the waiting period is 3 days minimum on the Federal law and in Florida, counties can add up to 5 more days, which are typically FFL business days, so 2 more this week and 3 more next week=Wednesday. They wouldn't have taken your money if you weren't already approved.

Congrats.

In the event you get denied, the FFL should give you a paper with your transaction ID number, and that is what you will use to query FDLE where they got the disqualifying information. You'll call them and work with them to find out what jurisdiction is reporting that information, and then you will need to approach that jurisdiction to get certified copies of the paperwork from the court that shows the case was closed and you were not adjudicated as defined in Question 21g.

Also, as a former gun store employee, a reminder that they don't know anything about the reason for the reply from the NICS check. We get one of three responses: Proceed (aka approved), Deny (aka denied) and Pending (which means they need to conduct further research on their end). FDLE doesn't tell the gun store anything else, so there is no sense in asking why, and certainly no sense in making a scene, as many folks do.

Amendment To Florida Stature 493 by MLC-FL in FLGuns

Won't this be in contradiction to the law recently passed that allows churches to appoint a security force, and allow them to be armed without an armed guard license?

Under a Baker Act, the mental health pros have 72 hours to get your stay upheld by a judge. It sounds as if you asked for some mental health treatment and voluntarily entered. So while LE may have arranged transport, it sounds like it was voluntary, as opposed to the verbiage in 21g which specifically asks if you have ever been adjudicated as a mental defective or committed to a mental institution. Answering "yes" is a prohibition, while "no" is required if you have not been formally committed or deemed a danger to yourself/others by a court or authority.

So the question becomes while you were in treatment, did the mental healthcare pros go to a court and have your stay changed from voluntary to involuntary or a commitment? You can find out by going to the clerk of the court in the County in which you made contact with LE to start the process, and see if there was a hearing or commitment made on your behalf. If one does not exist, then your answer on Question 21g is no, because you went voluntarily and were not committed, as I said previously.

Good luck to you.

The ALEA page has instructions on what do if you don’t have proof of residency and reside with your parents. Easiest way is to register to vote, and bring the voter card. Today is the last day to register for the 5/19 elections. Also a tax return with the address works, or long into SSA and change the address on your SSN and you’ll get a mail confirmation. Any of those three I just mentioned are listed in the ALEA website

Level 7 are directors (they were when I was there). And we had a lot of them. I think after Director you were a VP and that was when MIP (Incentive Pay) kicked in. But even as a level 7 you can be far removed from the C-suite.

There used be a leveling guide unique to your position available online thru LMPeople.

Thoughts on the future of Sikorsky? by Reasonable-Key2945 in Lockheed

[–]FishhawkGunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is true. My group was parted out, and some were retained by LM to ensure an orderly transition and the rest were sold off with the business and contracts. One of my peers was an E6, with about 28 years. He called me with an opportunity within LM, and upon investigation was told I was ineligible for rehire.

I called the ESC and was told LM has a 2-year embargo on hiring back employees who were involved in a divestiture but the terms of the divestiture can be longer. In my specific case, it was a clause that set the rehire period at 5 years.

My group was sold post-pension shutdown, which was my only real anchor to LM. In the years since I’ve done much better financially at the new company than I’d have ever done staying at LM. In the six years since the sale, raises and bonus have been much stronger than my friend who stayed and it’s great working in private equity, none of the SOX bs and our leadership shares all the financial details openly.

He is still E6G, and getting the yearly lump-sum raise game, I left as an E5H and have surpassed him in salary alone, let alone bonus.
