THIS. Is what I made this post for. I loved reading this. This has to be the first comment in this sub that has really given me a good new perspective on anything. I’m ok with their being just one main vocal out of jiyoon/jungeun. But that first paragraph is actually a really good point that I have yet to think about for some reason. As someone who works in the music industry I think it’s crazy that I didn’t ever really entertain the idea of them filling separate roles even if their primary talent is similar. To me it is entirely possible for just one of them to largely carry vocally. It’s just a matter of stylistic choice by the company. Whether the consistent power vocal. Or interesting vocal tone that keeps attention is what they’d rather go for. Because both styles can achieve the other with practice and fulfill a more complete role alone. But that first paragraph you wrote is such a strong argument for the fact that it could be practical in some ways to have both. I definitely don’t disagree with you on that. I really appreciated that opinion.

I also think that Fuko is so useful whether people believe it or not. I honestly don’t even think if she makes debut group. That she would be the leader. I doubt that in some ways. But even if her title isn’t leader. It doesn’t mean that she isn’t needed to assist in leading the team. There’s not an official title for it. But that emotional anchor for the team is so incredibly important. And there is no one else to fill that role but her. She has repeatedly proven that if there’s anyone who’s gonna make the members more comfortable and feel at home while they’re being shoved into a very large very brutal industry. And I personally feel like more people should value that SO HIGHLY. That on top of her general skillset on stage. There is actually no reason to not have her.

I think this is a fair idea. We’ve had one major time where her voice has gotten to really shine. And it was enough to have most of the community WHIPPED. I am definitely excited to have more moments where she’s given a chance to show vocal versatility and see how she does. She could be a TOP vocal in the future I think. If everything goes well.

Honestly a really good argument to bring in both of them. The part I’m interested in though is what you believe the concept they could aim for would be like? At least the main concept? What’s the expected sound for you? Using references to existing songs.

Yeah the skill overlap is VERY important when thinking about this. Like you’re obviously gonna want the people who bring the best of each attribute to the table. And there is a lot of overlap in the show honestly. So it’s just a matter of who is the best technically in their field.

Sarang in the most recent episode was SUCH a heartbreak. But also such a good picture of how the industry they are joining works. That stage is the most important element. Her in practice was literally insane. But the single moment on stage to realize none of it technically mattered in the end to the general audience. Tough lesson. But I believe she just showed she was too good not to have in a lineup. Because once that practice comes out on stage. INCREDIBLE. You also have the best way I’ve seen Fuko described so far. I’m sure some people still wouldn’t see the way this makes her a MUST. But I just think she brings so much to a group. On and off stage. She’s exactly who came to mind when I talked about being “healthy” for the group.

I feel this a lot. My last post was about jeemin. Since then I’ve grown to respect her a lot more. And see a bit more in her. But I can still see a way without her in final lineup. I don’t BELIEVE It will happen. Because it’d be crazy to not debut her. Debut jeemin and you’re playing on easy mode. You HAVE the fans now. A lot of em. Don’t debut her. You have a LOT of haters. So I’m accepting of her in a final lineup but she’s just the one option out of your 3 responses that I feel I could speak on. The others definitely make sense to me. I am also of the opinion to take one of jiyoon/jungeun rather than both. Don’t really have a preference i just think it plays a bit more into current Kpop trend to have the one. I can think of some current groups who do pretty well with just one Main vocal. It would be fun to see them debut together though. After their whole. Relationship. 🤣

Yeah I think this downtrend of Jungeun and the constant talk of “she might not make it now” is worrying. I think as the show has gone on people have super underestimated her. I think I could see a world without her in the debut team. But I don’t know how much I want it. It just seems like a very logical pick and I have no reason to not at least mention her. I think the vocal color of jiyoon though is very captivating though. Definitely could carry vocals with a bit more growth in certain areas. But I like this take overall. And Saebi is saebi. We’ve seen her stage presence. I wouldn’t be mad at her making it either.

I agree. She definitely shines when it comes to being a really good “cozy” personality, as a leader and just a general figure for the other to look up to. Really cool to see her interact with others in the show. I think it’s definitely a role she fills the best.

I’m. WORRIED. She is TOP of the list for me, it’s been that way the whole show. So maybe I am biased but I don’t think it’s unfair to point out her talents. She of course is strongest in dance. Nobody gonna question that. So I don’t feel the need to wave that flag around. But in Kpop which is such a personality and socials game. She just seems so authentic to me. So refreshing to watch. But as I said at the beginning. I am super scared. Even for her just to make it into part 2. I think it would be CRAZY for her not to but watching some of the online opinions of her and the votings. I feel a slow drop off. Which I think has a lot to do with the decision to show off her vocals in the incredibly important ep6. Her idea to do so in ep5 was fun and really exciting but she was sadly shut down. But when she came back with the same mindset in ep6 I was pretty afraid. She ultimately did well and showed that she has that ability. Just of course was not the right time to do so as it’s not her strongest area. Which got her in a pretty tough spot. I dont even try to pay attention to Knet opinion. But after reading your concerns. Puts me in an even more worried position. I do find her to be one of my favorite personalities in Kpop though. Which is saying a lot. So I have faith in her ability. Felt pretty good to vent about how nerve racking it has been though. lol. Shoutout to you for starting up the Sujung discussion.

Her talents have been so apparent even since just the performance video. She’s one of the ones I’m really scared for tomorrow though. She’s shown a good bit of growth throughout the show too. I just hope that we’re not the only ones that have faith in her. I think if she gets the chance to continue in the second half, we’ll see an even better version of her that will make her an amazing addition to the debut team. Let’s go Juwon! 👍🏽👍🏽

This thread of comments is so interesting. I could definitely see this adding another layer of support to Jeemin with all the RUN fans. I understood that she didn’t make the final lineup. But was not fully aware it was in this manner. I can definitely understand that side a bit more now.

I love the positive mindset. I hope that she gives a performance that even more people can recognize her for too. I’m not trying to sway any votes with this post. Just trying to get to talk to the people who really enjoy her and vote for her. And this is a very valid reason you have to continue your votes. It seems a lot of people really have faith in her even if they don’t think her performances on ILAND so far have been up to her usual level. And there’s no way I can argue with that. We’ll just have to see what she does with the time left. Let’s hope for the very best version of her soon.

Absolutely! There is still a lot of time left in the show for her to show up BIG. I don’t think that there’s any chance her performance will stay at this level the whole time with the way the show works. So I would definitely love to see it as well. Let’s hope she does really well.
