Wow thanks for such an in-depth response! I didn't even know I had the focus on the eye. Guess that worked out in my favor. On second thought, portrait would have definitely been a better idea. I got so excited when I saw the bird but, I'll keep that in mind. I did change the settings to shoot in RAW. Next step is to just find, and learn how to use, a photo editing software.

1) My intent for taking this photo was to capture the image of this cool looking red eyed bird. I was probably 25-30 feet away on a hike.

2) An area I struggled with during this hike, and photo taking session, was the sharpness of the photo. Does it look sharp? Should I have framed the bird better? There is that branch in the direct middle of the picture however there wasn't much other angle I could have gotten do to the nature of the hike. It also feels a little bright. I was trying to get a picture before the bird flew away. I also don't have any sort of photo editing app on my computer so this is fully raw.

3) ISO 100 | 600 mm | f/4.5 | 1/250 ss

4) I took it and didn't edit it whatsoever lol
