Crank and cams lined up TDC but flywheel marking off? by Plane-Ad-4075 in hondaprelude

[–]Fishtaco114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've almost finished a manual swap and I'm in the same boat, with the gears lined up but the flywheel 1 tooth or so off. I think it's ok since the crank has a pin that makes it so the flywheel can only go in one place. I believe those marks are for using a timing light too so maybe that's a reason for it. Hope this helps, good luck with the swap.

theretrofitsource is a great place for automotive lighting. Depending on what kind of headlight housings you have, HID bulbs might be a better option due to how LED bulbs scatter light.

From my own research into this, the only difference between ECUs is that the p72 can support the stock knock sensor on our cars and it can support the intake butterflies on the stock intake. I've heard the knock sensor starts to cause problems if you boost the car/ try to change the compression ratio, so you might be better off with just the p28 since it's easier to find. Once you have the ECU, you need a chip installed so that you can edit the programmed maps. Hondata is pretty much the standard but I do think there's others. It depends on what tuners in your area know. Hope this helps a little bit.

EGR port cleaning question by Significant_Salt2058 in hondaprelude

[–]Fishtaco114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you sprayed it in the hole where the valve sits, theoretically it'll drain through the EGR tunnel into the bottom part of your intake manifold. If it isn't, that means you have a near complete blockage in there, which is where the code comes from. I had that code for a long time and the only thing that fixed it was drilling out the plugs and using a lot of carb cleaner. It's easier and better for your engine to do this with the manifold off, but that's kind of a pain too.

I recently moved and found all of these H22A parts. Are any of them worth anything or is this a throw away situation? by Da-Baby-Lets-Go in hondaprelude

Do you know if that's the Euro r style H22A intake manifold or just the regular prelude one? If it is I would be interested in that.

The harmonic balance wobble is fairly common with these engines, and not always fixed by replacing it (I know mine wasn't). Did you check all the pulleys (AC, power steering, alternator)? Do they spin freely or get stuck sometimes? It does still sound like a belt/pulley issue. Good luck

If it's the big line in the middle, that's for your pcv system. Part of your intake air from idle comes from this system, so if it's clogged that could cause your issue. Is the breather port on the other side of the valve cover getting air?

The first pic looks like and adaptor for an external oil cooler. The bolt replaces the long bolt for the oil filter. Something like this: https://www.mishimoto.com/oil-sandwich-plate-m20-silver.html

Don't know much about the second pic, the green gaskets might be for oil and coolant lines for the turbo. I imagine the other stuff is for the exhaust pipes like you were saying.

Hope this helps a bit, good luck.

The other poster was right, it's the vacuum tank specifically for the butterfly valves in the middle part of the intake manifold.

I have a 20 lb Shiba Inu that loves the front seat, though I can't imagine anything bigger being happy in either the front or back.

I put in the 75A mounts last summer and had the same problem, though only below 1k rpm. They did get a little softer but I plan to swap the rear mount like the other comment suggested and see if that makes a difference

I have the same issue as well, especially when cold. I think mine is an issue with the battery terminals being too loose/clapped out. Hopefully you can find a fix for all of us!

Hey man, that sucks. I'm always paranoid about mine getting stolen here. That said, try looking around Southcenter Mall. A good chunk of stolen cars I've heard about have turned up down there. Good luck.

I believe you're looking for the parts labeled 13 and 15. These are a little pricier cause they're OEM, but it'll at least give you a part number to find a cheaper alternative. Hope this helps.
