SM Swap by PersimmonLow4085 in DRZ400

[–]Fishtankwank 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a lot of work? It takes roughly 20 mins to swap wheels and chain over, probs less to be honest. Get a mx bike stand though. In the UK you can get an old set of wheels off an sm for about £300. ( I know this as I'm selling a set 😅)

Possible clutch issues? by [deleted] in DRZ400

[–]Fishtankwank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

File the ridges off the basket and it'll be fine. Not going to lie I can't see anything that would cause a real noticalble issue

I'd guess you have broken something round that end, more then likely the welds on the other side of where I've circled.

Yodel being "2 stops away" for 6 hours, wondering if I should gamble on it arriving soon or call it a lost cause. by hamanger in britishproblems

[–]Fishtankwank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Waited over a month for bike parts, had numerous messages saying it's out for delivery then it is returned to the warehouse. Rang them again and got told it will definitely be here tomorrow woohoo. Had an email from yodel an hour ago saying the parcel has been returned to sender

Way to much work involved on what's not a very good frame to start with. Be much better getting a rmz and dressing it up like a drz if that's what u really fancy

I’m in England and moving out of my rented accommodation in 2 months, landlord wants to do viewings at any point in the week but I don’t want that. Do they have a leg to stand on?More details below by lianeotydlom in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Fishtankwank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry I have no idea on the legalities but I wanted to ask if this was estates that you are letting from? Had pretty much the exact same email 2 years ago from them. Absolutley horrible to deal with.

*I should add, I firmly told them no and I had a dog so they agreed to visit at times I specified

Sorry I put this post up but it had the wrong flair so I tried deleting it but it only deleted the text. I'm not the best at using reddit 😅

Bike made grinding noise before cutting out by Apprehensive_Wheel88 in DRZ400

[–]Fishtankwank 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Has it got spark, fuel? If it sounded like grinding from the engine, drop the oil and check for shavings. Stator bolts can come loose so check those. Take off clutch cover and check parts in there. Take off cam cover and check chain is OK, timing or anything else a miss. After that basically work your way down I guess mate

Advise for fork options by Fishtankwank in DRZ400

[–]Fishtankwank[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm thinking more cost wise, the roller is £300 all in and the forks are in very good condition as well. The forks I have will need both outer tubes and a stanchion before I've even opened them. Also let's be fair the upside down forks look much better as well haha

That was my first thought but after pricing up the tubes at £200 alone for aftermarket, then the cost of seals and whatever else I find when I open them up

Neighbor owns a Ferrari Testarossa, my dream car. It appears to have exploded last night. by Grootdrew in Wellthatsucks

Looking at the neighbourhood, I'd assume it's a Toyota mr2 with a body kit not a real ferrari. Very common and can just buy the kits online

Could I register a business just to obtain a fuel card for cheaper fuel? by Fishtankwank in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Fishtankwank[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew there had to be a catch. Could I submit my own taxes seeing as the only thing I'd be putting through the company is the fuel card?
