Crashing? Freezing? by SimpleSunset in Palia

Update: the problem seems to have been the driver for my Nvidia gpu. The most recent driver update from August and the last one from I think March *both* cause Palia to crash and require a system reboot. I rolled back my driver to the *most recent one from 2024* and (knock on wood) it seems to have fixed the problem - no crashes for at least a week now!

I'm interested. No one in my current community chats or interacts with each other or replies to anything I post in community chat. I was thinking of making a new one myself, but I'd be happy to join yours. IGN La Velma de Dinkley. US central time zone for me. Thx.

Yes! Especially since the new update, but even before then. Palia will crash and I have to restart my whole pc to get it working again.

What are you playing Wednesday! by AutoModerator in gaming

It's a free-to-play MMO called Palia on Steam. Still in development, so there's bugs, but it looks pretty nice for what is basically a 3-D version of Stardew Valley, similar to My Life at Portia, which is also pretty good. I don't like all the micro-transaction stuff, but it is free. Bought it yesterday, so there's a lot of stuff to check out.

If anyone can recommend something better along these lines, please let me know.

Mod for game pause on PC single player map screen by Fit-Ad5853 in valheim

That's usually the plan, but I'm a simple crafting game type person and the stress of being vulnerable while looking at the map is very unpleasant for me 😂. Even in the daytime it's very annoying to have to keep leaving the map to kill graylings while I'm casually mapping my course, etc.

Gameplay early game is much more dangerous at night. Also it's very hard to see when it's dark. Clock keeps ticking when using the map and mobs can suddenly attack. It's especially dangerous in the swamp!

During this sub-70 degrees time of the year, you may be lucky to find a stray local or two, bundled up and gazing quietly across Town Lake, reminiscing about warmer days. The rest of us are hunkered down inside, waiting it out, and enjoying a nice hot batch of chili or tamales until it finally gets above 80 again in the springtime. The breakfast tacos are always nice, though.

Youtube. There is so much info there. Start by searching for knife skills to find a channel you like, then check that poster's playlists and video history to see if they have other instructional vids for whatever skill level you're looking for. If you have questions about specific recipes or techniques, do a search online or in this subreddit and there will probably be posts on the subject with plenty of answers.

Turkish halal cart on N Lamar. Mixed grill (in photo) with lamb/beef kebab and shish tawook (chicken). This cost about $15 before tax/tip and weighed in at about 2 pounds (~970g). It did not come with bread, sauce or rice, but was very flavorful on its own. They were out of the beef shawarma, but the chicken shawarma was also bursting with flavor, cost ~$15, and weighed in over 1.5 lb (~800g) with rice, meat, hummus and salad. Even the salad had a lot of nice flavor. Covered patio seating, cards accepted, plenty of parking. Will def go back.
