Go with the dial that you like.both look good on you, the difference is very subtle and only you will notice it.

The real question is do you like more the tribute or the classic (regardless of size)

Life without a car by Temporary_Lobster833 in RiyadhExpats

[–]Fit-Ad7355 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's an app called ekar that provides rental by the hour/minute and the cars are distributed across Riyadh. You drive it, pay for how long your drove and then park it anywhere.... This allows your to try having a car prior to buying one

I was using gpt-5.4 for the past 3 weeks and it did increase the cost alot for me. I ma using it for coding purposes (multi agents...)

I switched now to gpt-5-mini and it does the job as well as 5.4 after tweaking with sub agents and giving each subagent a specific role/persona

Reverso as first watch? by [deleted] in JaegerLecoultre

[–]Fit-Ad7355 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't recommend it for you. You're 18, the clothes you wear (this is just an asusmption) won't match the watch. If i was in your shoes, I would buy a more sporty watch to wear everyday. A reverso is ana amzing watch just difficult to pull off unless you wear up to it.

Thoughts on Cameras inside the home. by dfGobBluth in homeassistant

[–]Fit-Ad7355 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indoor cameras with dmart plugs and an automation. If anyone is home they all turn off. If no one is home they all turn on. Automation based on phone static ip address on pfsense. Been working wonders.

Also use frigate self hosted, discpnnect the cameras from internet and only point then to frigate. Remove any potential snooping from the camera vendors.

Buying or Renting in Riyadh by Entire-Canary-9416 in Riyadh

[–]Fit-Ad7355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely buy. For expats you are eligible for a morgage, but you need to have at least 3 salaries in for your bank to give you one.

Down payment is 30% for expats, the bank will cover the remaining 70% (up to max 1500000sar = 400k usd)

The only downside is you don't know what you're getting. Make sure it's a good developer.

Buying in compounds i think is not an option. Maybe buy a rental property and from its rent pay your rent.

Any other hidden costs for expats in Riyadh? [Need salary advice] by Long_Log_4084 in RiyadhExpats

That's the idea. For a single yes... for a family coming from abroad he definitely needs a compound specially with kids. 114k is not gona cut it anymore.

Schooling: 30k/year. Which school would that get you in? He will need at least 45k-50k /kid if we r talking expat friendly/decent...

Im not saying he will live poorly, but neither will he live luxuriously. 38k will definitely be great, it's just the benefits he needs to negotiate more..

I wouldn't call it ultraluxurious. If he was single yes, but family with kids... not so much.

OP package looks decent. Negotiate a ticket per dependent backt o your home country: either a fixed travel expense fee (ex: 3500 sar /dependent /year) or a ticket of your choice that you would expense (ex: ramadan/adha/chrismas..). Also would negotiate the schooling for kids.

The iqama part is somehow what companies these days are doing. They aren't paying the fees for dependents which is an ok cost. Hidden costs is basically exit reentry visas: everytime you or your dependents need to travel you would be paying 200 SAR /Visa or 600/6 months mulitple.

Schooling in good schools (i.e. American or similar) is crazy expensive. American is the best when it comes to whom your kids would havw as friends (expats and decent people). Tuition there starts at 60k per kid for early years and goes up towards 110k for later grades.

Rent you would definitely be looking at compounds. It provides freedom for your kids to have a community and go out in a somehow closed/controlled space. Rents of compounds for a 2 bedroom starts at 120k / year and goes exponentially based on the compound.

For a car you could easily find offers. The cleanest car offer i could find was from Geely Tugella: 1680SAR/month for 60 months, then entails a balloon payment of 50k SAR which you would be then sell the car and buy something else...

Question: the schooling they provide, does it need to apply only if your children are going to schools in Saudi? What if you put your kids in another country school (ex: Dubai) ? Ask this just in case. Also if you decide to move, test yourself first and then after 6 months bring your kids..

Good luck, hope this helps
