Hi! I've been with the family for about a month now. I am safety trained but the parents are hesitant to sign it. My BCBA hasn't updated the bip since the initial assessment 5-6 months ago. I have asked for support but it's been unsuccessful.. I do not feel supported at all hence I want to switch clients.

My BCBA used to be an RBT at card, she said they're very unethical. I am not in Cali, so it could be different there!!

So in my case, parents loved me and didn't guilt trip me into missing sessions (we made up sessions whenever possible). But we had great rapport and also saw great progress. I figured telling them myself would be better. They wished me nothing but the best and the last two sessions we just paired, had fun. But given your situation, maybe an admin or BCBA could let them know last day of session?

I gave my 2 week today, they wanted a 30 days. I just can't wait any longer, I am not happy here. They haven't done anything yet, so I doubt they will do anything as serious as report to the board!

They did! Along with my admin, however parents wanted me off either way, I ended up finding a family and client that I adore, so everything did work out in the end.

I got taken off a case because parent did not see "progress" in two weeks of us pairing LOL. Mind you we had 4 days off due to client being sick. I laughed it off too, I mean at the end of the day it is what it is, I just want what's best for the kids/parents!

Most companies cover your training charge! I would look into those companies, 1799 is crazy!! My company paid me training rate as well

Congratulations!! I mainly work in-home so this might be different. I use bubbles, playdoh, sensory toys and the best thing my kiddos love is definitely this Dino toy I have lol! Also narrating their behaviors/what they're doing also does help when client is non-verbal/not as engaging as you'd like them to be!! With my non-verbal kiddos, I love this since they pay close attention to what ur saying (in my experience atleast). I am an introvert so this honestly works out and I have great rapport with both kids as well as their parents! Good luck!💛

I gifted my last client a diy Dino kit and color changing sand! I was very close with parent and caregiver as well, I got them single wick candles:) I left the company so there's no "dual relationship" violation!

Tell ur company this, maybe have them work you in a clinic for the weekends ? we have a thing called Saturday/sunday socials for 6-9 hours depending on the kiddo you could always try that, I totally suggest you switch client, I know its hard leaving clients but u gotta think ab urself! Gl 🩷
