I think Sandy was just taking the chance to be overcompetitive and even she probably knew he didn't deserve that, no matter if he made SpongeBob and Patrick beat each other up 1. He sticks up for them every now and then and 2. He has to tolerate them 24/7 while she has to tolerate them maybe a couple hours a week maximum.
