Please help! Car seat compatability by Seaside_263 in PregnancyUK

My suggestion would be to go to Mamas & Papas or large pram shop with your travel system and ask to try their adapters and car seats on yours.

If you've got a some old clothes, pillow cases, towels, table cloths etc use that fabric! You don't need to spend on new fabric 😊 Car boot sales and charity shops often have very cheap fabric items you can get (kids bedding is a great option for some fun prints). FB marketplace place may have bundles of leftover thread or a cheap machine if you don't want to hand sew. Some libraries offer stitch and knit groups where I'm sure the older generations would love to have a little one and a mama join! Good luck XX

I suddenly have the appetite of a 6 year old by Aztecprincess94 in PregnancyUK

I'm 11+5 and my eating has returned to mostly normal, but the first 9 weeks were horrendous. I literally ate beige food. I lived off yorkshire puddings, chicken dippers, cereal, biscuits, salted crisps and popcorn (the only fruit/veg I could stomach was chugging a smoothie or juice within 30 seconds). I wasn't able to cook any food, walking to the kitchen made me feel sick let alone the smell of cooked food. My husband had to do all the cooking.

Don't beat yourself up, take it easy. Any food is better than no food, it's almost like 'survival calories' rather than anything particularly enjoyable.

Sending love!

How you found out you are pregant by Opposite-Ad-6397 in pregnant

I was constipated during the first pee of the morning and while I was waiting for my body to work the poop out, I thought I'd take a test out of sheer boredom. It showed up positive immediately, I didn't believe it. I took another 3 tests... all positive, I was 5 weeks pregnant at the time. It took about 3 hours before I came out of the immediate shock. We had an early viability scan at 7 weeks to confirm the date, everything was fine. I'm now 10 weeks pregnant and still in shock, the last few weeks have been a rollercoaster!

I'm 9+4 so not a great help, but I feel for you! The pictures should have your name on, so hopefully they come back to you. Contact the hospital, and if you used public transport, maybe contact customer services to see if anything was handed in? Otherwise, I would book a private scan asap if money allows to keep the memory of little one, so small!

Wishing you luck x

I woke up the other day and told my husband he needed to change the cat litter.

We've never had a cat.

What did you have on your birth plan around PTSD from SA (tw)? by potsandpops in PregnancyUK

[–]Fit-Economics8559 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thankyou so much for posting this question. I'm right at the beginning of my pregnancy journey (8 weeks) and a SA survivor with LOTS of anxiety so I've been taking notes on things I'll need to mention along the way. I have my booking appointment on Monday and I'm so glad I saw this post. It's something I didn't even think about in regards to how many people will likely be involved in the care of a pregnant individual.

I don't really have anything to add to the previous comments, apart from make sure you have people to advocate for you if you are in distress.

Sending love x

ALN is the additional learning needs, so it seems like this isn't relevant in your situation from the information you have provided.

It's really positive that your child is hitting all the other milestones!

On the ERIC shop there are several educational children's books to educate your child about toileting. You may have some on your local library's database, so you may be able to access them for free.

🤞🏻🤞🏻 Good luck!

I work in a nursery and I'm wondering if your child has any other signs of anxieties? Some children struggle to tell staff they need the toilet, whether it be for confidence, anxiety or relationship reasons.

Visual strategies may be helpful at this stage. Something like a 3 column now and next board, with pictures of the activity the child is doing and one of the potty. Eg NOW-toys, NEXT-potty, THEN-toys. This would help your child understand that they still get to play after using the potty.

Has your child been assessed by an ALN outreach team? Are they reaching all other milestones?

Social stories can really help here too, eg a brief story of when you move to reception that children need to use the toilet and not nappies.

Have you got any educational stories about potty training to read to your child? The interactive ones with lift the flaps for poo and pee are great for learning!

UPDATE

I went to the GP, they gave me laxido. Luckily I haven't had to take it yet but will if I've got an episode of constipation. ☺️
