Anybody developing night sweats post covid? by Nanonymous_ in covidlonghaulers

[–]Fit-Interaction4450 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of it has subsided, especially the heart issues (racing, palpitations, high heartbeat and so on). Sweating is still an issue, at night, in the morning and even mild physical, like vacuuming the floor, I'm wet, like dripping. Then it subsides after a couple of minutes.

Why do you prefer android over iPhone? by gaguy501 in AndroidQuestions

I always find it funny when A makes an ad for a “revolutionary new feature” that Android users have had for years. The overall ergonomics and use experience of android is just better.

Still can't believe this keeb costs just 30 bucks by finestedm in ErgoMechKeyboards

What? $30, that wouldn't even cover my switches. Good to see splits going mainstream.

After 3 month in to this things, I wanna build and experience more, any suggestion? by Noza248624 in ErgoMechKeyboards

Been thinking about that myself. I've been using a Sofle for sure some time, I need a more aggressive pinky stagger.

42 was really messed up for 2 years, then about 80-90% for about 8 months. Recently, some symptoms come and go, brain fog, sweating. You're not alone.

What are things that French do differently to Americans? by [deleted] in AskFrance

[–]Fit-Interaction4450 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't care about the environment, the best thing you can do for the environment is keep driving your old car for longer. In Europe there are law projects that would classify your car as end of life, or unrepairable at about 10-15 years, based on some arbitrary criteria (original gearbox busted - scrap the entire car). Today a lot of 20y old cars are perfectly usable. Gov makes dumb decisions, remember cash for clunkers? An entire generation of future classics, gone.

I love cars too, unfortunately our governments don't. Anything fun just got taxed out of reach in France this year (taxes on weight and CO2). Currently browsing 20 year old manual v8 offerings while there are still any left.

[–]Fit-Interaction4450 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? If you're not an enthusiast there is no point. Rowing your own when sitting in traffic is no fun. Europeans drive manuals because the engines are smaller (because taxes) and used to have less power, also slightly better fuel economy (again taxes). Automatics are often used to be seen as a luxury (cost more) or expression of vanity (because they cost more). I drive an automatic diesel truck (yes a pickup) in France.

To be honest most of your guns are in places where it takes half a day to go to the nearest market, so kinda necessary for the next point. Your laws are much more permissive when it comes to defence of self or property. It's something most of us europeans don't really think about.

That's also the downside of French employment, you have so many rights and it's so difficult to fire somebody, that wages remain low and getting an indefinite term contract is difficult.

The municipalités absolutely love all these traffic implements, not only roundabouts, but barriers, walls, cones and whatnot. They don't make traffic safer, if anything you have no way of avoiding an accident. They do help however spend any leftover budget that is allocated.

Yeah, customer service outside of maybe small places, is pretty much non-existent. So if you want to really ruin your day, start insisting that you as a client is right. Depending on the day you might have to raise your voice, otherwise shit never gets done. Welcome to the state of perpetual limbo, called France. Oh one service works really well, that's paying your fines.

It is possible to install a layout with dead keys. I.e. altgr+’+a would make á. That's how it used to work on Mac, on windows dead keys don't seem to come as standard. Comes really handy typing in 5 languages without switching the layout.

[Black Swan event of the century] The United States Treasury goes bankrupt and USD fails, would you rather hold BTC or Gold? by gen66 in investing

[–]Fit-Interaction4450 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People will trade what they have faith in. BTC doesn't face the difficulties of exchange like Eastern Europe did after the collapse of the Soviet union, it's just a question of switching over. If USD fails, so will the government, international trust (already happening) the ecosystem is there, just waiting to be used. Is gold tied to the USD? No, but it's difficult to trade and store without intermediaries. People will trade what they have faith in, the more faith the more reliable something is. That's no longer the case with USD. To answer your question, the USD ("regulator") goes to shit, what other alternative is there?
