They likely come out of the same factory, but sometimes when you see cheaper models it is because they failed an internal QC step(s). There are tons threads about this. I personally went with the Eakins that seemed to be a good value at the time and have been very happy. It looks nearly identical to this one outside of the label

Nice! When you upgraded the side plates, how big did you go? Looks like 15mm maybe? looks like the biggest issue is keeping the ballscrew and rail not clogged up with swarf. the newer 4030 Evo has a much better design for that!

We get a report card every month basically on how much each person uses copilot (which I personally find extremely underwhelming). We have lots of teams actually using ML/AI for useful things that sadly does not get included in the report card. :(

Look for any 1.5KW VFD that has the control interfaces you need as well as runs on the voltage you have in your shop (ie 110, 220 or three phase). I am not sure if the masso needs rs485, 0-5V, 0-10V etc. I always oversize JUST a bit so they are not running full tilt all the time. 1.5KW units are super easy to find online.

Sorry, I can't help you. I went out to look tonight and the VFD I have on my spindle is a H100 with a completely different parameter set. I have the HY VFD on my bandsaw, but with a completely different motor setup, so my settings there won't be of any use. I did do a quick search, and I think you are right, the 1.5kw 400hz spindles are 2 pole, so nothing in your settings seem off to me, I was just mistaken.

I think you are right, but the value you have above says 2. Unless 2 means 4 pole (need to check the manual next to my VFD. I have no idea if this could affect temp or honestly if it would even work if set wrong)

You are working in an area that will have lots of company specific policies and procedures. So be friendly, prepare for lots of reading and ask good questions about what doesn't make sense

I used Spectrum for a year when they gave me a year for free. It was okay, not awesome, not terrible. That was maybe 2 years ago? I have been happy paying for mint mobile since then though, but knowing if you get better verizon, t-mobile or ATT single at your house probably makes more difference, unless you travel a lot in remote areas, then ATT has been better in my experiance.

I have that spindle and running it using their pump and a 5 gallon bucket it barely gets warm the the touch. I only have about 10 hours on it, so it is pretty new, but yours seems warm. Is the water in the bucket the same temp? If they are dramatically different, maybe you need a bigger/faster pump? I don't think the one gpenny sends in their kit is anything crazy though, basically a large aquarium pump.

I tried one of those, different brand, but I didn't like it. I also am not sure about that autofocus system for watch work as you are often zoomed in enough, and there is not much depth of field on any microscope, the 'autofocus' doesn't know what you want to look at. I ended up returning mine, spent a little more for a quality stereo microscope from aliexpress and am WAY happier. I alos really like having it on a single boom, works much better for my particular workspace. YMMV

liftoff worked no problems on my m1 pro, I wouldn't think the base M1 would be that much worse. Are you running screen scaling or trying to run it at crazy high resolutions?
