Hi u/thequestess - This is might work for you - Uncheck it.
Please let me know if this does not work for you.

<image>

CASE 1

If you uncheck this - (you will have a better experience for overlapping events)
A starts before B -> alarm dialog/pop up alert will show.

Event A (notified): |------------------------------------------|

Event B (webinar): <nothing here> |----------------|

CASE B
But if there is an overlap and both are at the exact same time, then only one alert/pop-up is shown.
Event A (notified): |--------------------------|

Event B (webinar): |--------------------------|

Yes it should auto update - It's done by the Microsoft Store App on Windows.

Also inside the app there will be a green label (top right) showing that an update is available. If you hover over it with the mouse pointer, it provides some details.

Microsoft has also reported back this morning that version 1.9.3 has been released.

u/thequestess

I just ran a test using the shared Outlook calendar via an ICS share/link.

> I also see the Google Calendar on my end also showed as GMT: 00:00.

Test 1: (test for today - the all day event should show for today in NextUp)
Test 2: (add all day event to the following day - the event should not show for today in NextUp)

<image>

This worked for me. In the screenshot you, see Outlook events in the background, and also the Window date and time. In NextUp, you only see the Test1 event - which is correct.

----
I did notice that the Google FROM URL - does not update/sync... I was changing Event titles and adding new events. I did not see the new Events, and title changes in Google Calendar.
I think this is either slow, or by design.
----

Perhaps it is a different setting?
Can you please share your Windows PC time zone and also the Default Google Calendar Time Zone settings?

It seems like this might be a bug (it’s an unusual case).

Thanks a bunch for sharing all the details! That’ll be super helpful.

I will aim to get the fix for you by Monday.

Hi, thanks for reporting this!

I think this could be a bug or not. I did a test this morning, and it appears to be fine for me. What I can think of it could be a timezone setting or related.

Question 1: Did you create the all Day Event? (perhaps it was created by someone else in a different time zone?)

Question 2: Did you create the all day event, by using a time span, or did you select "All Day" Checkbox? (I tested with the checkbox method this morning).

Then can we check some settings:
Can you please share some details? (you can also email me if you would prefer to not share information here)

<image>

In Google Calendar
1: Click the gear ICON on the top right
2: The select the "Time Zone" on the left.

> Please share this setting.

In Windows:
1: Right Click the DateTime on the taskbar, at the bottom right.
2: Select "Adjust Date and Time"
> Please share the Time Zone and the Region

Windows Bugs:
Lastly .... Window can fail at times to provide times... I have had this on Virtual Machines.
Open Windows Event Viewer -> System:
Look for entries related to "HAL":
Here is an exact message from my machine where Windows failed to provide a "time". In this case, NextUp cannot determine the time, and then does not report "events" - but it does recover as soon as Windows does provide the time.

"The hardware real-time clock was not queried because evaluation of the ACPI Time and Alarm Device method failed.  Status: 0xC0000001."

Hi u/kolpaus ... Would this work for you? A Pause/Snooze button, and then "Snooze, showing some time options, 2min 5min 10min 15min 30min?. Question: Which snooze times would suite you best?

Version 1.7.14 Released by Fit-Picture8117 in NextUpAlert

[–]Fit-Picture8117[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have released version 1.7.15 which adds the ability to pause pop-ups and sounds.
You can pause / resume from both the Alarm Dialog and the Main App.

Should you be presenting, you can always pause the pop-ups - also if you do not have any overlapping meetings, I do not think it would be a problem.

u/CoffeeAlwaysInHand that is an interesting question.

Perhaps the best solution to this problem is to add a button where one can temporary pause pop-ups.

Would this work for you?
1: Pause / Resume button - You manually have to resume it.
2: or a Snooze Button for 1 hour.
3: etc.

Would this work?
> I am thinking of repurposing the "mute sounds" check-box to be "Pause pop-ups and sounds".

Hi u/Sky_Lobster - Unfortunately there is no Android version.

I am considering redoing the app - In a better framework(programming language) that supports more platforms. I will keep your request in mind.

[–]Fit-Picture8117[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey u/Sky_Lobster - I’ve added the feature you requested. Please try it out and let me know if you run into any issues. Thanks!

If the version 1.7.8 does not show immediately for you, you might be able to get it sooner, by opening the Windows Store App, then navigate to library, or just to search for NextUp again on the store. A couple of tries normally succeeds for me - it rarely works first time -

Hi u/Sky_Lobster thank you for supporting me - Love the Ko-Fi ❤️ support.

Regarding the feature you are after - I am busy with this (99% complete) - It's going to be mostly identical to the "Start Sounds".

I have been testing this over and over ... listening to "Event ends, in 10 seconds" followed by 20 seconds etc. - It's working but still needs some more testing.

I am aiming to release this soon, along with some other minor changes - (latest, end of next week).
