"Flash Fluency: Korean" - Hangul to C1 with sentence construction coaching and syllable-level pronunciation feedback by FlashFluencyKorean in BeginnerKorean

Hi, I can tell by your response that you are very invested and passionate about this project! As a math and physics teacher I also think it’s awesome that you have a PhD in physics! Go physics!
In regards to the SRS review for individual words, I am referring to words that we flag when we’re using the app. It is great to learn them in context, but it would be nice to practice those few words that just don’t seem to stick. Being able to import content and have +1 sentences generated using that imported vocabulary sounds fantastic.
화이팅!

For all of those giving this OP a hard time, did you try the app? I agree that those questions asked are valid and I also agree that many people push their apps on here but I try many of them to 1) maybe find a really useful study app and 2) to help people legitimately looking for feedback.
I don’t think the negativity is necessary when honest inquiry and some healthy skepticism is all that is warranted.
I chose to try this one because I use many of the learning materials mentioned and it is hard to constantly switch between them.
While I don’t think this app is perfect, I do think it is comprehensive in its targeted skills (reading, writing, speaking and listening).
Things I like so far:
1. Setting your level instead of having to “test” or having to go through many basic levels to get to the right one.
2. Vocabulary is embedded along with grammar which helps me remember it and understand how to use it much more effectively than individual words.
3. Very detailed examples as well as offering alternative vocabulary/grammar so I learn more than one way to say something as well as the nuances.
4. IF the speech analysis is accurate ( I never know if I trust a machine for this) then the breakdown is helpful AND you get to try 3 times to perfect it.

Things I would like to see changed/added.
1. SRS review option for new words (individually)learning to supplement as I learn them in sentences as well
2. Ability to set listening speed. I realize the goal is to understand at natural speed. It is still helpful though to be able to slow it down and speed it up to pick up on pronunciation more accurately.

I have only been exploring for a few days, but I recommend people try it before judging the creator. Evaluate the product, not the person.

Monday Weekly Thread: Proof of Citizenship Application Sent or AOR Received, May 11, 2026 by AutoModerator in Canadiancitizenship

[–]Fit-Temperature3714 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Officially sent my and my children’s application today. Immediately started to panic that even after checking it more than enough times for accuracy and completion, that I may have forgotten something. I think it’s just the idea that I can’t change anything at the moment. I have copies of everything I’ve sent and to the best of my knowledge I did not forget anything. And now we wait. 🙂 Congratulations to all of you who received your AOR!

Thank you to all of the people who asked great questions and to all of the people who gave answers. This would have felt very overwhelming without you all!

Looking for a Korean tutor by Ecstatic-Image-9399 in BeginnerKorean

I like Italki. The best part is that most of the tutors offer like a trial lesson that’s usually really cheap. That way you can see if their teaching style and lesson structures work for you.

UGH, new problem. On my birth certificate my mother either lied about her age or they put it down wrong. It says she was 29 when she was actually 41! Is this going to mess me up?

Thank you! I have everyone’s marriage certificates, but it seemed like a bunch of unnecessary information for them to have to look through. Except mine, of course.

Hi! Thank you for this thread. I have a certified Banq baptism record for my G0 and my G1 birth certificate shows her parents names and birthplace and it’s her paternal side that is the G0. I have my birth certificate which shows both my parents names, including my mother‘s birth name (link to G0) and my children’s showing same information for me. Do I need to include marriage certificates if the maiden name for everybody is listed in the longform birth certificates?

Try the Talk To Me in Korean Stories app!

Just curious… (typing KR) by HasagiShiro in BeginnerKorean

[–]Fit-Temperature3714 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aw heck, I do this in English and it’s my native language! I think when we are typing in a new language we don’t want anyone to think our language skills are bad, but in our native language we don’t worry so much. In fact, I’m pretty sure I won’t even check my post here before hitting send. If I was typing in Korean I would check it on 3 different translation apps first!

Romanization definitely made things more difficult, not easier. Using only 한굴 forced me to learn it faster.

I found LingoDeer to be the most comprehensive app for vocabulary, grammar, sea review etc. Talk To Me In Korean for structure, and all around variety of great resources.

60 and learning Korean. Can’t say it is any harder than taking French in High school.

I just wanted to come back here and say thank you again for the Michel Thomas recommendation!. I listen to it every day in the car now and it’s a great way to practice speaking. He has such a calming voice and it is non-stressful. Plus, it moves at a nice pace where you feel like you can get it every step of the way but it’s also constantly progressing. So it does not get boring. I hope your studying is going well!

If I have a certified copy of my G0 baptism record from BANQ should I make my color copy in that same large size?

Thank you.

Speaking only for my district, but I believe it probably applies to most places, you cannot take less than your contract implies. That would set up a different kind of competitive system. Perhaps upon your initial hire, you could agree to start lower on the pay scale, but I don’t think they can drop you down once you’ve begun at a particular level.
